He just endorsed Rick Perry

Who was looking to get "tough" on immigration

Rick just can't buy a break

Is he being accused of just gross incompetence in the running of his office? It would be unbelievably grotesque, not to mention a possible violation of federal civil rights laws, if these cases were ignored because of the ethnicity or legal status of the girls.

Doesn't make a bit of difference. He'll get re-elected as long as he cares to remain.

Yeah that's what is being alleged... that his office failed to investigate these sexual abuse cases. Many conservatives really hailed this man as "Mr Law and Order"... but he apparently turned a blind eye to many cases.

Or is he the perp?

Despite my strong support for tough immigration rules, border enforcement and ID cards, I will however admit that this is probably a clear case of crimes not being investigated based on the race of the victim, which is completely wrong and disgraceful.

You do get the overwhelming suspicion that if e.g. Mr and Mrs White in their mansion on the rich side of town had their child assaulted, then the police would move heaven and earth, and the local newspaper would be going wild. But an Hispanic or brown kid? Meh. Who cares?

There shouldn't be that sort of attitude, especially when people, including children, are the victims of crimes.

So vile felonies are less important than . . . what does coming as an illegal alien qualify as, a major misdemeanor?

Criminals who arguably don't harm anyone, who are just taking advantage of a country so messed up it can't elected a competent government, get all the attention, while those who are destroying lives get a pass.

This sheriff should have "I love child rapists" tattooed on his chest in Spanish before being dropped into the middle of the nearest Mexican town.

And by ignoring these crimes, the Sheriff is complicit in the rape of all of these women.
