When I see this nonsense, when it has been broadly demonstrated to be false, I immediately conclude that it is a Kremlin troll disinformation aimed at promoting a Firehose stream of Big Lies.

The really sad part is that there are people monetizing the stupidity and ignorance of MAGAts.

And Americans will grab onto the lie but never take the time to find out the facts.

I'm beginning to wonder, since dems can't stop this, if our best hope is the high unlikelihood that two egomaniacs can exist in the same space for very long. their arrogance and perhaps in-fighting will be their undoing. if they last trump's entire term, one of them knows where the bodies are. no way the coexist without threat of extortion.
 
I have to admit Musk’s idea of returning all of DOGE’s savings back to taxpayers directly is a very good way to get the public behind him and the effort. Having successfully bought Trump off now he has a bigger target in mind. Of course it’s irresponsible to return that money since we’re in the hole 35+ trillion but if you’re offering money to Americans they’re unlikely to bother about the details.

It's just like when he promised to feed the homeless and was like "nvm I buy twitter instead" and was still crowned King of Humanitarianism. He learned that just making these promises is enough for Americans. Just like Epstein's list, just like lowering grocery prices. By the time reality hits that it's another empty box his cult will have moved on to whatever Fox News tells them to be angry about that day.

I can't imagine how goofy rich people feel having wasted billions on performative charity just to learn the promise is as good as the action.

If we get these DOGE dividends, the first person to quote this comment can have my portion.

It doesn't work like that.

The GQP budget that loads another 4 trillion into the deficit and actually increases taxes for the lower and middle class puts the lie to any promise of savings going directly back to Americans.

And, of course, firing tens of thousands of people and stripping billions out of the economy will lead to recession or depression, either regionally or even globally as the infection spreads over the next year or two.

Musk is the richest man in the world but doesn't understand money. Trump bankrupted a casino along with a host of other companies.

Congress is just a collection of feckless opportunists who are literally owned by the broligarchy.

We are headed for collapse.

It does work like that it’s just good politics buddy, and even if you are correct and in the end they get shafted isn’t it better to have them complaining about something they once supported as now it’s their mistake too. If Biden had sent them a check for a few thousand complaints about inflation would have been muffled. I doubt any of that will happen but having people think Musk is hunting for money to give to them…..it’s really great politics and any member of Congress would be a fool to criticize it.

Actually, having our federal government give us a tax holiday at the expense of loading on more long term debt was about the final straw for Canadians. We're tired of politicians giving us back our money and increasing the deficit and debt.

But maybe Americans are more easily fooled.

Hmmm.... it appears that President Musk needs his own version of the Secret Service. This gives his security detail the ability to carry weapons into Federal buildings. They made his security detail into Federal Marshalls because he's likely getting lots of death threats and they fear the wrath of the Federal employees he's firing.
