Since this is related to coming out in a way. I was wondering I am a Trans Woman aka a Male to Female transexual. I have a question when it comes to gender on this forum does the word Transexual Female mean a Male to Female transexual or a Female who is becoming a male. Because I have seen both used this way. However since I don't want to be called a male at all I simply used female as my gender but if Transexual Female on this forum means a Male to Female transexual then I will change my status.

Does anyone have any clue?

Thanks you see I have heard some people use the Term Transexual Male as a term for Male to Female transexuals because we were born males. I find this offensive because in my heart I am not a male at all and I am working on changing just that. So just a lesson on dealing with transexual people do not call us by the gender that we are born with because that is not who we are.

Oh honey I have dealt with more offensive things then just that on this forum! LOL! However it is just annoying how discourteous people can be when it comes to transexual people and giveing us our proper dignity and respect. I mean I have even encountered transphobia amongst the gay community. Which we should all accept each other for our biological differences instead of being against each other which is what the bigots want.

I've always understood transsexual female to refer to a MtF transsexual. And yes, there is some nasty transphobia on this forum.

The terms I've heard are "transgendered woman" or "transwoman" for someone who was assigned male at birth but identifies as a woman and "transgendered man" or "transman" for someone who was assigned female at birth but identifies as a man.

i think 'transwoman' or 'm2f transsexual' are the clearest, least confusing terms.
