my baby daddy trevor noah is taking time off from work to spend time with myself and our children, leaving a HUGE hole in tv for competent non-neo nazi politics. of course all eyes are on who's going to take over and it seems like the concensus is that it's anyone's game and there's no obvious successor. this is important because there aren't a lot of places we can go for objective and honest content so I'm watching closely to see who's taking the chair. i would love to see some LGBT on the small screen, 'of color' would be even better but I'm not going to ask for the whole world but there's really a space in politics for an outspoken member of rainbow gang that is earnest and funny without being overly campy, I don't want a minstrel act, Jack Mcfarland's era is over honey. Chelsea Handler has come up, which I can see and I would tune in for that? Any ideas-- it's probably more likely than an LGBT host. Anybody going to miss Mr Trevor Noah-Ghetto's presence on tv as much as me?

Don't tell him I told you this but I enjoyed his daily show run far more than any of his stand-up specials.

Yes we watched Trevor, although he seemed to lose his edge during COVID and it was clear over the last year that he was looking to move on to do what he enjoys the most.

I very much look forward to a rotating series of hosts. Maybe Jon Stewart will even do a couple of shows?

Don't get my hopes up. It seems nobody likes her but I'd watch Hillary Clinton Jr AKA Samantha Bee. Another wet dream would be Wanda Sykes. :gogirl: I'm seeing lots of votes for Chelsea Handler, which wouldn't be terrible cuz she's got some big balls but, again, we need some rainbow gang on tv.

Wanda would be so excellent.

The shade! That's two votes for NOT Samahta or Chelsea.
I love those two but as you note, we deserve someone from the team for a change.

And Sam and Chelsea have both had knock-out shows that went for many seasons.

I def think it should be a female host for a change of perspective on dick focussed politics.

I don't know how likely it is and I can't even name a candidate but I would be thrilled if that happened, we've made so much progress and we're so visible in every other genre but the politico-sphere has a lot of open room for our voices. Nonetheless, all the aforementioned would at least make great guest hosts. I've been watching the Daily Show since Jon Stewaart's early days, this feels like waiting for the results of cheerleading tryouts to get posted.
