I’m in a mess. The guy in the flat below mine has just got a dog, and it’s been barking all day. He gets home just now, this evening, and shouts at it , banging doors etc., We had this exact same situation with that guy, some five years ago. Well, I have got it all reported, and will also be making a phone call tomorrow morning to confirm the situation. If nothing gets resolved I have decided to move house…

I feel for you, Rob. That's terrible you can't enjoy your home. I do not know UK law, but we are entitled to "quiet and peaceful enjoy of our home".
I have had to live in an apartment only a few times and for the last 40+ years in the dessert where the closest neighbours are 200 feet or more away. I can play the stereo as loud as I want. Good luck in resolving the problem.

Oh, you do not have Cinco de Mayo in the UK. Too bad.

However, no barking or dog today. What has happened is a total mystery….
