Trump and first lady Melania test positive for coronavirus

And still not wearing a fucking mask! *%%* :grrr:

Which is why I don’t have sympathy for him. He is reckless even when he has it. He more than likely had it at the debate and he still did a fundraiser before he revealed he had COVID. Him and his Administration do not deserve the sympathy they are getting with how badly they handled everything and how completely haphazardly they’re being when they have it.

2020 has been a real bad year, the last 4 years of this Administration has been really bad. Them all getting COVID is at least for me, a silver lining to all this.

Those pictures were probably taken by the White House photographer. If it's the one that had to fly with him to WRMC, she's was just wearing an N95 mask without any other protection.

Instead of being in an isolation hospital room with negative pressure to protect other people, they've had him walk to these conference rooms without a mask and they have put even more people at risk.

They're still not learning.

His debate coach.

And just a reminder... the debate coaching sessions were late last week and over the weekend.

Tuesday, Christie was at ABC doing commentary on the debate (which sounds like a conflict of interest?). In the picture below, Christie is second from the left. He's socially distanced but this means that everyone in the ABC studio has to quarantine and get a COVID-19 test. ](*,)

One of the doctors at WRMC just said they were considering discharging Trump to the White House tomorrow.

That's crazy talk.

On Sunday news shows this morning, the staff doctors on both Meet the Press and CNN after listening to the President's doctor's new conferences are saying that they suspect the President's condition is worse than they are making it out based on the medication they are saying he is being given.

What I heard just now is that his oxygen levels dropped on at least two occasions and that, absent being on medications like Tylenol, he's been running a high fever. If Trump contracted this over the weekend and he started showing symptoms on Wednesday, that's an aggressive viral pneumonia that he's battling. Trump's oxygen saturation (pO[sub]2[/sub]) was <95% on Friday. A drop to <95% would be something that we would send a patient to the hospital for.

He's been given three different aggressive pharmaceutical treatments that are recommended for high risk patients: monoclonal antibodies, remdesivir and dexamethasone.

How I read this: Trump is telling the the White House doctor what to say. The doctor should be pushing back and saying, "I won't tell you how to be President, you don't tell me how to be a doctor". Dr Conley is misleading the public.

I think it was Mark Meadows who said that this would be touch and go for the next couple of days. That would be my opinion, too.

^Pretty much agree with you on the take. We will see what happens, he is either not going to make it or he is going to have permanent complications after the fact considering he is already an unhealthy man to begin with. I’m assuming that if he makes it out of this he is still going to come out not being fit to continue his duties as a President when it comes to his health.

But now they're talking about discharging him tomorrow and sending him back to the White House. What? To die? He can't be that healthy already, can he?

I think Trump is barking and telling them what to say. The reality is that this is looking a lot like Boris Johnson before Johnson went to the hospital. Denial. "Everything is great" and public appearances/videos where he tries to make it look like he's not ill. That didn't go so well for BoJo.

These guys need to learn. This is a serious virus, especially for people who are older or who have pre-existing health problems. If you're sick, shut up and listen to the doctors' advice.

If Trump does pressure them enough, they will have to discharge him. But the next time he takes a turn for the worse, he may not make it to the hospital in time. Or he may crash and end up on a ventilator which increases his chance of dying. That's the risk here.

Yep, that's pretty much what I thought.

Inside Walter Reed: The 'Nation's Medical Center' where Trump will be treated for coronavirus in a secure 'Presidential Suite'

So if you are interested this is what the presidential suite looks like at Walter Reed. I don't have any problems with it, it is for the President of the United States and the President has certain expectations as far as being able to perform business and maybe hosting dignitaries while convalescing. But in Trump's case I would point out the difference in this and what people dependent on the ACA will get if the Republicans succeed in repealing it.

So on one hand he's getting dexamethasone which is usually only administered for severe cases....on the other hand, his docs are talking about discharging him on Monday?

To treat his Covid-19, President Trump has started receiving dexamethasone, a common steroid that has been shown to be helpful in people with severe cases of the disease but that doctors warn should not be used early in the course of the illness.

So are they just throwing anything and everything at him in the hope that something sticks?

I mean the Doctor is lying, he came out earlier with a video admitted that he lied about giving oxygen yesterday. He is not to be truly trusted when it comes to Trumps condition. Going off what he is receiving, it shows that Trump is in a bad state.

Most of the major medical centers have a VIP floor. One Jewish hospital that I worked at had a custom kosher kitchen on the VIP floor where a special chef who was trained in kosher and halal food preparation worked.

If you're a board member, a big donor, a VIP or a family member of a VIP, this is typical of the type of accommodation you would receive. Apparently this area of WRMC for high level government officials has been there since FDR.

They're being as aggressive as possible.

If you or I had COVID-19 and had a desaturation event, we would likely get admitted and given dexamethasone.

If the hospital had a research authorization, it's possible that you might get enrolled in a blind study for remdesivir (and if doses were available). Remdesivir has a notable side effect profile and you are required to be an inpatient to be giving the drug. Same for convalescent plasma- if there were a research study and it were available, that might be an option if you consented. I'm guessing that Chris Christie is at Morristown Medical Center and he's likely getting dexamethasone and remdesivir because he's a VIP.

The drug that caught my eye was the Regeneron monoclonal antibody. That was given very early and it was administered under a compassionate use authorization that would be typically used for a patient who was not likely to survive and the medical team was willing to risk any possible adverse affects. Granted this is the President and they would bend the rules. But it sounds like that was administered very early before he went to WRMC.

And look how everyone is ripping on the medical team for lying, being evasive and repeatedly changing their story.

It's better to have an angry family because you were blunt and too truthful, than you ruin your credibility by lying or not giving a realistic professional opinion. But just a reminder, we've had both Trump's personal physician and Ronnie Jackson from the White House medical office lie to us under pressure from Trump. That should give everyone an indication of one of the job requirements to work for Mr T

Meanwhile, Trump is pissed at Meadows for telling the truth. He might get fired but at least he'll walk out of the White House with some of his reputation remaining.

And of course, Hillary has shown (like Biden) that she is the better person, by wishing him and his pole dancing, Christmas hating 3rd wife all the best.

Mark Meadows during the medico propaganda chorus for an audience of one.

I didn’t watch it yet, taking a bathroom break from watching a movie with the BF, but a new video has been posted on his twitter and people are already pointing out how suspect it looked. I mean the last video was and people were pointed out how many edits are involved.

There are really trying to push the idea that things are better than they are. Like this is ridiculous.

As I said, I have no issue with the suite's existence. It is the irony of the person using it and his politics on providing health care to others.

UCLA Medical Center has one of these floors. When my grandmother had an operation a few years ago she had a wonderful room there. The food was excellent, too. I doubt the standard of care was higher, but the accommodations and hotel-like service were excellent. You don't need to be a bigwig to get on the floor, you just need to pay a premium.
