Well, he's back in it.

It amazes me that the man can say whatever the hell he wants about everybody else, but say one word against him and it's a personal assault on him which cannot be allowed:

WASHINGTON - Donald Trump called Wednesday for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to resign for saying publicly that she feels he is unfit to be president. Lashing out, Trump said the 83-year-old justice's "mind is shot."

Re: Is Trump on Drugs?

Why I love Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Ginsburg could be in the final stages of Alzheimer's and still have a 100% better working brain than Drumpf.

love Ginsburg----she has nothing to lose---she's on her way to retirement once Hillary becomes president----if she doesn't win Ruth will still retire and move to another country. What she said was a bit out of character--- yet special times demand people speaking out. Her buddy Scalia and that horror show Alito have said worse things.

There is a sexist double standard that says men can say whatever they like but women should hold their tongues.

Well you hit a certain age and just say, fuck it, if I don't talk now I could die at any moment. Something makes me think Scalia really didn't like Trump either and they talked about it.

trump isn't president yet---but Alito shook his head in disgust at the State of the Union ---at something Obama said---right to the Presidents face----on TV---and he was one of the newest justices[-X

A few things come to mind:

1. When Conservatives sound like they've lost their minds, they see it as the truth. When Liberals speak the truth, Conservatives see it as them losing their minds.

2. A debate on the Constitution, American History or the weather between Mr. Trump and Justice Ginsberg would demonstrate who's lost their mind.

3. If Mr. Trump were to win the election, he would be the oldest President ever inaugurated. HA!

Actually, supreme court justices are supposed to be above politics, so her remarks were inappropriate.

I was very impressed that she and Scalia were best friends outside the court....two very different people in many way, yet they formed a strong friendship.

We all know they're not. It's the biggest open secret in US politics.

Perhaps the justices SHOULD hold back on the active politics. However Trump , who is so temperamentally unsuited for the position of President(as well as ignorant and clueless on a whole lot of policy, including anything doing with the Constitution) should really stfu already. He's so out of his league(and so out of it, period) it's become a total embarrassment, a total cringefest to watch his daily blatherings of inanity and insanity.

The function of the judicial branch is to interpret the law. The function of the executive branch is to carry out the law. If a candidate for the head of the executive branch expresses ignorance of and disdain for the law of the land the way The Donald has, the judicial branch has every right in the world to comment on it. Besides that, the SC justices are also citizens of the US and have the right to express their political views in appropriate venues.

I retract my statement. Apparently RBG's comments were a violation of the Code of Conduct for the SCOTUS.

^ It is time for powerful and good people to state their horror of Trump being elected to the presidency.

It may not have been judicially appropriate, but I'm still glad she made the comments.

Mweanwhile, the most important issue of our times - which will very much be affected by who is elected, has COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY FALLEN BY THE WAYSIDE, ABSOLUTELY OFF THE RADAR, PERIOD. I was afraid of this.

There's still a vacancy on the Supreme Court, and Congress is avoiding the constitutional DUTY - or, at least, a longstanding tradition with more than 200 years of nonstop precedent in all cases - of voting on Garland. Congress has *NEVER* refused to vote on a Supreme Court nomination from any President.

I was afraid all along that the Sheeple would, again, go completely ASLEEP about the Supreme Court. It, again, will not be a campaign issue, I'm sure - though the composition of that body will determine the life or death of many of the things we think makes it special to be "American" - and the Court going the wrong way is an existential threat to many aspects of life on earth.

^ I don't know how to get Americans to understand that this election is about the Supreme Court.

Period. Full stop.

For some reason, even though it is an equal branch of government....made up of less than ten people.....Americans seem to be oblivious to the impact that the Court can have on their everyday lives.

It is essential that a Democrat President fills the vacancies and forms the court,

We can't afford another court like the one that gave the US GW Bush or Citizens United. We can't afford another homophobic, racist Scalia 'originalist' or GOP bum boy Uncle Tom Clarence Thomas.
