Another major New York development is dumping the name from their building.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...TWlaHB0A&noredirect=on&utm_term=.b32905748c16

The200 Riverside Blvd. building was the subject of a lawsuit this year, when the condo board asked a New York judge to determine if it had the right to remove its own signs. The Trump Organization insisted that it did not, saying that an agreement signed in 2000 meant the name could never come down.

The judge ruled for the condo board, saying it could take down the signs — but only if residents approved.

Toronto certainly seems like a nicer place since his name was stripped from a hotel/condo building thrown up by Russian oligarchs laundering money.

It makes me feel childish that his makes me gloat, but I happily gloat. He doesn't bring out the best in me. Also, the Russians probably still own the mortgage. Dammit. That makes me happy too.

trump brings out the worst in everything/one

^ I feel a hate I've never felt before. It's really intense. (Just a confession)

I don't think Trump is particularly bothered when countries like... oh, I don't know... Saudi Arabia?... pour hundreds of millions into his pockets when they stay at his hotels when they come for a visit.

Such a blatant show of conflict of interest that nobody seems bothered about.

I'd really like to know why he's constantly getting away with it. The United States has turned into his cash cow.

Rich. White. He could drown a baby on live tv and his supporters wouldn't waver, not even flinch.

^ There is proof in this forum somewhere about all of the shouts of 'conflict of interest' on Hillary's part (which didn't exist). Nothing has been said about Trump's 'In Your Face, America' blatant conflict of interest from the day he entered the election race.

Pitiful double-standard and hypocrisy. What's worse is that he's putting his own monetary interests ahead of anything else. Even today, he claims that the 'Saudi' situation would interfere with the weapons deal America has with Saudi Arabia when it's really the hundreds of millions of dollars the Saudis put into Trump fat pockets when they visit the US and stay in Trump's hotels.

Shameful.

The Shrill Hillary haters are all gone or are keeping their mouths shut because they know they have nothing to whine about now.

But this naked corruption and self-dealing is all part of dulling the Americans' senses....the country will become so used to this being the standard of all their presidents and politicians that they will regard it as the new normal as they slide deeper and deeper into becoming an anti-democratic oligarchy.

In the bike forums, I have a friend from the Basque Country who says, "It's pitiful that you'd let him win. Shame on you for letting him steer for such a long time. Shame on you." So, that pretty well covers it.

Ontario's new premier since the end of June has been likened to Trump. I posted about him a few months ago. He's been holding up to that reputation since he was elected. The message which comes across is 'you can't stop us'. His only political experience is being a counsellor for a ward in Toronto. His younger brother, Rob, was mayor of Toronto until he died of cancer a few years ago. Rob made a mockery of Toronto with his antics and rode the gravy train for every cent he could get out of the city. He became a laughing stock and even appeared on Jimmy Kimmel (I think it was his show.) He was well-known in the States. The fact that the Ford family were well-known drug dealers and crack smokers to this day (at least Rob was) wasn't a secret.

Anyway, Doug tried to take over for Rob and even ran for mayor after Rob's death but lost to the current mayor. When a scandal knocked out the former leader of the Progressive Conservative party for the province, Doug ran for leadership despite zero political experience and won. Since he was elected last June, he's been dismantling everything he can that the Liberals put into place. (Sound familiar?) Even now, he's fighting the federal government on things Justin Trudeau is trying to do.

He campaigned on the promise of 'draining the swamp' and he's been doing that. Just today, I heard on the news that he fired a Liberal who oversaw trade with the US then hired a PC representative and raised his salary from $300,000 to $375,000.

He's been photographed with white supremacists when they attended a party together, and now he's got his eye on the prime minister's chair. If he ever makes it and he takes the country down the same road as he's taking the province, we'll be in the same deep shit as you are now, except that kind of shit won't grow flowers.
