Trump might win !!!!

Trump is looking at the Oval Office as though it is a controlling CEO's office. He has no understanding of the basis of our Constitution, the idea of the separation of powers, let alone Church and State.

He seems to believe that The President is somehow equal to King, which is precisely the opposite of the principles that the U.S. of A. was founded on.

Our Republic is one of the most bold experiments regarding humanity, the rights of individual citizens, and how WE choose to govern ourselves.

"The Donald" is seeking to control US by executive fiat. He doesn't "get" it! Most of us Know that! And yet ... yet ... given the design of our system, he might, just might, win this election!

May God, or whoever, a Higher Power, help us if we make the error of not helping ourselves, which we've fought so many wars to have the right to do!

If he wins, and he's all about Winning, no matter the consequences, I'm convinced that not only WE, but also The World will lose, and lose badly!

I've been saying that since it became a possibility that he might become president. His ego and temperament will destroy the United States, and when he does, he'll take us down, too. The world will be his very own reality TV show, and when he says, "You're fired," he'll be pressing a little red button.

Even though it's getting less likely that Trump is going to become president, unlike how it was more likely over the summer that he was going to be the one....I'm still holding out hope that if heaven forbid he becomes president, Congress would basically tell him to shove it every time he wants to do something stupid.

I respectfully disagree that it ever looked like Trump was going to win. From the beginning, he was too extreme, and that never wins. The people who answer polls also lie, also stay home, etc.

He was never as close as the hooplah said. When Humpty Dumpty finally falls, there will be a great gnashing of teeth in the aftermath.

At least that's something the president can't just do because he feels like it; it's a command that has to be confirmed to be legal, though I think the veep can confirm so though it's supposed to be confirmed as a legitimate target, we'd be depending on a veep picked by the lunatic who wants to launch.

Unfortunately, Congress doesn't have a lot of say in the use of the "red button". Once upon a time, the president wouldn't have been able to use that without a declaration of war, but thanks to a few preceding presidents there are a couple of laws on the books that let the executive act unilaterally (that's the authority Obama uses to kill people with drones at just his order).

I was being facetious, but thanks for the explanation.

I suspected you weren't entirely serious, but I figured it was something a lot of people don't know. It is one reason I breathed a sigh of relief when Trump picked a politician who actually shows signs of having a brain for his running mate -- if he'd picked someone who took McCain's "Bomb, bomb, bomb" bit seriously, I would have been truly worried.

Though if Trump, as I suspect, suffers from IDD (intermittent delusional disorder), he would probably think he could just use "the little red button".

Sorry, but the spleen has just grown too bitter in this race. Rather than luster, I see it more as a smut like that which grows on corn.

I continue to support open debate even in the face of an entity, such as Donald Trump representing an ideology that I reject.

The success of any nation's democratic credentials is its capacity to withstand, and triumph over those who offer their services as a saviour.

Unfortunately, yes Trump still might win, despite all the pre-election polls suggesting otherwise. But every presidential election, we never learn Those polls are often inaccurate at predicting what the actual voters will do on election day in the swing states. Despite all emerging scandals, it is still just an election of the democrats vs. the republicans. with both candidates being highly unlikable, the swing voters are still not guaranteed to vote Hillary.

All this early celebrating of a Trump loss (rather than celebrating a Hillary win) is going to make it even more painful if she ends up losing. We will never hear the end of the gloating from the already uber-egotistical Trump.

Pence only has a brain in relation to Trump. He's a nightmare whackjob for entirely different reasons.

DT undoubtedly keeps dreaming of giving a victory speech on election night in which he gets to scream directly to the camera and the nation "Hillary Clinton, you are FIRED!". You just know he would do it. Let's hope his dream does not have a chance of coming true.

^ And you know that the headlines and tag lines in all the media when he loses are going to be 'Donald Trump..You're Fired!'

It's absolutely astounding just how far Trump voters are sinking into their own delusions as they justify their support Trump.

Obviously it's nothing new but I've never personally witnessed the likes of it.

Cognitive dissonance en masse.
