Trump Staff Picks, Co-Conspirators and the Revolving Door of Departures

Re: Trump Staff Picks

^It's a sign of the times that Bannon feels a need to disavow his former "revolutionary" ideology, in favour of being the court jester, to King Donnie 1.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

It should be noted that Bananon may be a Leninist in wanting to bring down the state...but he is anything but a true populist.

He is more of a reactionary neo-fascist nihilist....who seems to actually be without any real plan but to wreck the world.

Hopefully someone will rid us of this troublesome pest.

Republicans are against big, all controlling government. That is what the tea oarty is about. http://www.teapartyexpress.org/mission. Trump promises to reduce regulation and reduce the number on the federal payroll. I believe that is wear Bannon meant.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

^It would appear that President Trump's proposals for the military budget might well mean "swelling" the federal payroll with additional personnel, while keeping arms manufacturers very happy with their forthcoming contracts evidence that government expenditure will not shrink....merely, a change in priorities. One wonders how Republicans in Congress will respond to such a dramatic increase in military spending, with its thirst for additional taxation to cover Trump's vision of a strong America.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

No, that would be Libertarians.

Both parties, apart from their extreme flanks, believe in big government. It's just their spending priorities that are different.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

I still say that Libertarians are just Republicans that want to smoke pot.

Hardly -- there are many drastic differences.

Libertarians oppose a police state, are almost universally pro-choice, fanatically support the Fourth and Fifth Amendments, and more, as well as favoring a smaller military. If there were a major Libertarian contingent in Congress, they'd end up voting with Republicans significantly less than half the time.

So Gary was NEVER a Republican? How many Libertarian candidates were never Republicans?

OH come on, have a little humor about yourself. God knows I have to have some humor on my side. For fucks sake I have to own a bunch of the idiots on this site.

Well, if you watch videos from the Libertarian (big 'L') convention, you'd think that they were doing something much stronger.

To be fair, libertarians (small 'l') do want government to focus less on telling people what to do and more upon tasks defined in the Constitution... however, the list you provided is not always consistent or coherent among those who call themselves "libertarians".

There's a fair share of anarchists (or in the case of certain wealthy libertarian ideologues, 'autarchists') who call themselves libertarians/Libertarians who have a much more radical shopping list.

Gary was a Republican from when Republicans were still republicans, which automatically makes him at odds with today's Republicans. Many Libertarians are actual republicans, which is why they're no longer Republicans.

Gary's one problem is that he's somewhat of a propertarian, which means he fails to see that in many ways some of his ideas value property over people.

That wealthy coterie tend to be propertarians. They're feudalists, IMO, just drooling over the idea of making everyone so "equal" that the property owners get to treat the rest as sserfs.

You know, Libertarians like to think of themselves as stalwart, rugged outdoorsy types who can skin a moose, why isn't it THAT guy on stage stripping?

Gary's one problem was that he looked stoned on the TV - and he sounded that way too...

Cold Open from last weekend's SNL:

Re: Trump Staff Picks

Not available outside the US. I found a lot of videos talking about the sketch, but, without a deeper search, none of the sketch itself.
Sorry about that- NBC is still fixated on Hulu. They will post these clips on their official YouTube accounts and then get videos removed when posted by any other YouTube account.
Try using this site: https://www.proxysite.com/youtube/ Select "US Server" and post the url:

Then click Go. It should play the video for you on the site.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

Ben Carson. Dr. Ben Carson. :clown: WTF is wrong with him? In his initial speech to "welcoming" HUD employees, the new Sec'y referenced slaves as immigrants who worked harder for less....(?!) and then proceeded into some bizarre neurosurgical crap. I bet the "welcoming" employees are wondering now more than ever.....why him? Is there anyone less in touch with the needs of urban issues and public housing?....and he was raised up there! Obviously, he's way out of his depth, and has to speak in metaphors from what he knows rather than what he knows nothing about, namely running HUD.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

I actually don't see a problem with his words:

"There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less."

Though it would depend on his delivery. In the context of the speech, he seems to be making the point that even people whose ancestors didn't choose to come here and who didn't get the rewards of their own hard work are just as much part of America as the rest. And really that's a serious slam to those at Stormfront who advocate "shipping back to Africa".

Given his position, that's a good point to make, since HUD works overwhelmingly to help blacks.

I'd like to see a video to check if his delivery matches that understanding.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

Slaves were not immigrants.

No matter how he spins it.

And the video of his entire speech is just bizarre.
