The most worrisome part is that all the Generals are now gone.

If Pence were POTUS, I wonder how many of these remaining mugshots woulld still be in place?

Guessing Mike Pompeo and Nmuchin.

He would have to clean house to get rid of the taint of corruption and incompetence. Assuming, of course he would want to right the Ship of State.

Isn't the real question, "which one of these would he pardon"?

Chief Pentagon spokeswoman announces departure [CNN]
Chief Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White is leaving her post, a move that coincides with Secretary of Defense James Mattis stepping down but also comes amid an internal Defense Department investigation into her conduct...

In August, CNN reported that White, a Trump administration political appointee, was under investigation by the inspector general after multiple complaints were filed against her.

White is alleged to have misused support staff, asking them to fetch her dry cleaning, run to the pharmacy for her and work on her mortgage paperwork, among other things. Staffers also accused White of inappropriately transferring personnel after they filed complaints about her...

Prior to her position at the Pentagon, White worked as a publicist for Fox News.

^ I seem to recall reading about her and the complaints here somewhere.

Trump sure knows how to pick 'em.

...Ronny Jackson in. Now we know what sucking Trumps ass and declaring him to be the healthiest person on the planet will get you.

...Some people who have to see Trump naked get paid $130,000; some get promoted to Admiral and nominated to cabinet positions even thought they have no experience in healthcare or organizational management.

I'd say that at least Dr Jackson didn't have to have sex with Trump but after viewing his performance at the press briefing about the President's physical, it could qualify as a rimjob.

It's February. Time for the President's annual physical.

Oh, and look who got nominated for a second star!

Trump pushes for Dr. Ronny Jackson's second star amid Pentagon probe [CNN]
President Donald Trump has re-nominated his former physician Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson to receive a second star, even as he remains under Pentagon investigation over allegations of improper behavior.

The President's push for Jackson to get a bump in his military rank comes less than a year after Jackson withdrew from consideration as Trump's nominee for secretary of Veterans Affairs over allegations that he was "abusive" toward colleagues, loosely handled prescription pain medications and was periodically intoxicated.

Was this the quid pro quo?

It is even worse than we thought.

Mr. Trump's appointment reinstalls Jackson as his physician. The White House also resubmitted Jackson's name for a promotion for a second star on Friday, Task and Purpose first reported.

Obviously, they could not find any other physician who would lie, so they are apparently just going back to the same swamp.

Last year when Dr Jackson got up in front of the Press and lied, we were at a place where people rolled their eyes and said, "Who are you kidding?".

People who worked in healthcare were a little uneasy because it set a bad precedent. It was one thing when President Kennedy's physician documented his serious health problems but said nothing. It's a totally different thing to lie to the American citizens about the health of the President.

Then came the nomination of Dr Jackson to head the VA. In addition to being an insult to the veterans who are served by the VA, it was also another confirmation that if you play along and enable the Trump's lies, you'll be rewarded. It also says something about Dr Jackson that he was stupid enough to think that he was capable of heading the VA.

Honestly, I'm shocked that Dr Jackson is still working in the White House. Considering that he has been accused of dispensing controlled substances inappropriately and without the proper documentation, he should not be treating patients until the investigation is complete. I have a feeling that this just got added to the agenda of the House Oversight committee.

^ He's a Rear Admiral. He shouln't have much trouble locating Trump's. Just look for his head.

FEMA Administrator Brock Long resigns [CNN]
Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Brock Long announced Wednesday that he is resigning...

Last fall, Long was the subject of a Department of Homeland Security probe into whether he was misusing government resources when he used government vehicles and personnel for six-hour drives between his home in North Carolina and FEMA headquarters in Washington.

An inspector general's investigation, released by House Democrats in September, found that even after Long had been told not to, he continued to use government SUVs and drivers to shuttle between home and work.

Speaking of la familia:

Heather Nauert nomination sunk by nanny issues [WaPo]
State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert withdrew herself from consideration to be the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Saturday, saying in a statement that “it is in the best interest of my family.” Behind the scenes, her nomination faced complications because Nauert hired a foreign-born nanny about 10 years ago who didn’t have the proper work visa and Nauert didn’t pay proper taxes on time, according to two officials involved in her nomination process...

The nanny issue wasn’t caught in her first security investigation, when she became State Department spokeswoman in 2017, the officials said. The investigation process for a Senate-confirmed position is more rigorous and a U.N. ambassador needs a higher level of clearance, they said.

If these are 'the best people' he can hire, I'd truly hate to see the worst.

Re: Trump Staff Picks and Revolving Door of Departures

Industry insiders, hacks and incompetents....worst ethically challenged administration since Harding... makes Nixon look like a devoted public servant. Was Reagan even close to this bad? Probably. But he never pretended to hire only the best.

What's scariest is the fact that Trump actually believes that's what he's doing.

It's at the point I have no idea what Trump really believes, or if he believes anything at all but what most fits with how he sees the world, how he sees things. That the Republican Party has allowed itself to be co-opted by Trump... where one time serious politician Lindsey Graham would berate calling building the wall on the Texas border something that Trump must do alone... THAT is scarier still. John Mc Cain would be heartbroken and furious to see what's become of the party he served for so many years...and even more so at one of his dearest friends and associates so completely giving his soul to Trumpism(of course he snips at Trump on some of the foreign policy issues, but overall he's become one of his biggest lapdogs). It's soul crushing what we have now.
