Pruitt's security, Superfund chief leave as probe heats up [Politico]

Two top aides to Environmental Protection Agency leader Scott Pruitt have decided to leave the EPA as congressional scrutiny of his spending, secrecy and lobbyist ties intensifies.

The departures of Pasquale “Nino” Perrotta, a career EPA employee who headed Pruitt's security team, and Albert “Kell” Kelly, a former banker and longtime friend who ran the agency's Superfund task force, come days after Pruitt dismayed much of his staff by blaming aides for furors involving his massive spending on bodyguards, first-class flights, a $43,000 soundproof phone booth and a biometric door lock.

Perrotta was the second security chief for Pruitt. Pruitt fired the first security chief after he refused to drive Pruitt around Washington DC with lights and sirens to avoid traffic delays.

Kell Kelly was a banker in Oklahoma who Pruitt brought in from Oklahoma. He had previously arranged a generous mortgage deal for Pruitt and helped him get financing for a minor league baseball team... before he was banned for life from the banking industry by the FDIC.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

Pruitt has got to go. One of the numerous hacks put into specific bureaucracies to fuck them up and eviscerate oversight and responsibility. Thanks for nothing, Donald.

^ Indeed. Trump isn't draining the swamp. He's stocking it with leeches.

Oppo researcher leaves White House [Politico]

Michael Roman, a former Koch operative, served as the right-hand man to the White House’s top attorney.

Roman served as a special assistant to the president and director of special projects and research. His last day was Friday, according to an email obtained by POLITICO.

Roman said in a goodbye note sent to other White House aides that he was leaving “with a heavy heart“ and that “it has been an honor to serve President Trump and the American people.”

Bureau of Indian Affairs head resigned following claims of aggressive behavior [The Hill]

The former director of the Interior Department’s Bureau of Indian Affairs resigned last week following a claim that he behaved aggressively toward a female employee, Talking Points Memo reported Wednesday.

Bryan Rice resigned from the post after just six months on the job. The department did not give a reason for his resignation at the time.

Trump Administration Loses Another Official as Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan Steps Down [Fortune]
When President Donald Trump took office last year, Homan was asked by then-Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security John Kelly to step in as acting director of ICE. Homan, a career law enforcement officer, had reportedly been preparing to retire at the time.

About six months ago, Trump nominated Homan to serve as the permanent director of ICE. According to reports, Homan’s confirmation hearing never took place, at least in part because he was uncertain whether he wanted to accept the role.

While Homan officially attributed his decision to retire to family considerations, some have suggested that it was motivated by tensions with Kirstjen Nielsen, the current DHS Secretary. Three people told The Wall Street Journal that Homan “felt sidelined” during immigration negotiations with Congress and “frustrated” that Nielsen wasn’t “acting quickly enough on his recommendations.”

Mr Homan was previously in the news when he advocated for the arrest of local and state government officials who did not cooperate with federal immigration agents.

And Rachel Maddow just found new space on her wall for the Trump administration departures. Won't even last a few weeks if this keeps up.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

Trump probably doesn't even remember these lies. His natural reaction to everything written is to lie.

That's the problem with being a pathological liar. One must have an extremely good memory. Trump often can't remember from one day to the next what lies he has told.

Clovis worked at the USDA as a senior adviser since January 2017, most recently serving in the department’s National Resources Conservation Service. His last day is Friday.

So this hog has been pushed out of the trough.

He is a person of interest in the Mueller investigation.

Pence's doctor resigns after reports of concerns about Jackson's conduct [CNN]
The White House physician assigned to Vice President Mike Pence, Jennifer Pena, has resigned, his office told CNN in a statement Friday. Pena worked in the White House Medical Unit...

This comes after CNN reported Tuesday that Pence's doctor privately raised alarms within the White House last fall that President Donald Trump's doctor Ronny Jackson may have violated federal privacy protections for a key patient -- Pence's wife, Karen -- and intimidated the vice president's doctor during angry confrontations over the episode.

On another note: who knew that Pence had a female physician?

After coming forward with her concerns about Dr Jackson, Dr Peña has been the target of pro-Trump-fringe groups, including accusations that she is a member of Skull and Bones and is in a sex-cult with Senator John Testor: ](*,)

There are always more rats.

Repeated for emphasis and truth.

Speaking of which.....

I'll bet that Trumpy is feeling a little bit of buyer's remorse today after his best pal Rudy Giuliani created more legal jeopardy for him yesterday.

Re: Trump Staff Picks

Didn't he just throw Rudy under the bus?
