Trump this.

TrumpCo. trying to walk this disaster back but still making a total mess of it. The Chuck Schumer thing shows how off his fucking rocker Trump is.

...Trump horrified even his own advisors by saying that the United States would take over Gaza and turn it into a resort area. Jonathan Swan and Maggie Haberman of the New York Times reported today that Trump’s team “had not done even the most basic planning to examine the feasibility of the idea” when Trump blurted it out. “[T]here had been no meetings with the State Department or Pentagon, as would normally occur for any serious foreign policy proposal,” Swan and Haberman wrote, “let alone one of such magnitude. There had been no working groups. The Defense Department had produced no estimates of the troop numbers required, or cost estimates, or even an outline of how it might work. There was little beyond an idea inside the president’s head,” an idea his own officials considered “fantastical even for Mr. Trump.”

Explain this to me: they were whining about being broke during the pandemic. Where is all this money that they are transferring to Trump coming from? Or is the whole thing just a way to launder campaign donations and funnel the bribes to Trump & his henchmen?
I'm sure some of it is money laundering, but I bet a bunch of it is small amounts from people who are too ignorant to understand it's a legal con. Where does the money come from? Wherever they get their money. Probably some of them think they're going to be rich, that this is how "things work" and if they just stick it out, they'll get their money back.

But mostly it's just supporting Toad, if they make money or not isn't the point, the point of it is to bow down.

I have no idea why we are all running around clutching our pearls. Do we not remember. That is the entire point of Toad, and now no one is talking about the security breach at the Treasury, or about the protests all over the country. What is happening at the supreme court, or anything else that is actually going to happen.

We are NOT going to be invading Gaza, no one is turning it into a "resort" never will happen, not ever. Can we all please stop wallowing in the crazy

... Where does the money come from? Wherever they get their money....
There are a bunch of videos from guys like Jordan Klepper where he asks MAGA supporters if they've invested money on Trump's NFTs and other scams. A few of them have said yes, and they lost their money.

The "where does the money come from" has two angles - "where do the fools get them money that they're transferring to Trump?". The other side is "who are these people who are paying this money to Trump?".

If these were campaign donations, we would have lists of the donors. Because they're Trump scams, he's able to take in millions with no reporting requirements.

Note. There's no spelling errors and it is coherent sentences. That's coming from the comms shop, not Trump. The Sharpei is not of the Gobbels level. The media should investigate how this distraction propaganda is being fed from somewhere into that non-government social media platform .

Again- Trump has normalized a non-governmental source of disinformation as if it is a governmental pronouncement. He got us to accept Twitter as "presidential edict". Now he's doing it with his DJT-owned social media platform.

Good writing but the people who need to read this never will.
No one will read that because the people who should be publishing it or other sentiments like it make money from Toad trolling the planet. Ultimately it's the falut of all of us who'd rather rubberneck the crazy and put money in the pockets of the people who exploit it.

I'm not so sure how much conspiracy there was beyond take people's money. His campaign didn't need these people's cash. It looks to me like a haphazard scheme to take cash from the stupid, that then gets used or pocketed, however. Toad and his whole family, and the people surrounding him are not running the show, a lot of interests and agendas are fighting for control and the crazy person at the middle isn't running anything to any specific purpose save stealing. You'd think the people with the White Nationalist agenda would at least be competent, but even they are just getting backlash.

No one is in charge in this mess, which is why it's going to take us all off the cliff.

The TrumpCo. Firehose of lies. This may warrant its own thread like the first term?

While we're on the "firehose of disinformation", Ben Stiller got caught in the Russian disinformation machine this week... thanks to Elonia retweeting the Russian lie as part of Musk's personal vendetta against USAID.

“These are lies coming from Russian media,” wrote Ben Stiller about a video posted on X alleging USAID spent $4 million to send the actor on a highly-publicized visit to Ukraine after the Russian invasion. “I completely self-funded my humanitarian trip to Ukraine. There was no funding from USAID and certainly no payment of any kind.”

There is pearl clutching because in the wider world, pronouncements from Trump still have meaning.

He has tipped his hat time and again with ridiculous announcements that eventually concretized into policy.

And if they didn't, they resulted in so much collateral damage along the way as to beggar belief.

No one really cares if Americans don't believe this...the reality though is that it signals intent and attitude and this can ignite a firestorm in the middle east among highly emotional people with a direct interest in the genocide and future of Gaza.

So yeah. If Trump is signalling US policy ( and why wouldn't he be?), it is like throwing a firebrand into gas soaked kindling.

The arrogance. The ignorance. The opportunism.

The message is everything, not for what it factually means but for what it projects.

All we can hope is that there are a lot of Hamas followers at the Stupid Bowl this week with better sights.

Ted Lieu weighs in on that disastrous PR stunt last week.

Well.. while we're talking about virtue signalling legislation and stupid things that government does.

The House passed the "Halt Fentanyl Act" which makes fentanyl a Schedule I drug, which is defined as "having no medical use". It's there with MDMA, psychedlics, PCP, heroin and, yes, marijuana. Sounds great, right?

Fentanyl is the preferred drug used during surgical procedures to block pain. If you've had a surgery in the past 50 years, you have been given fentanyl. If you know someone with cancer, they may have been given a fentanyl patch.

The fentanyl that is killing people is not the stuff being made by pharmaceutical companies. It's being made by companies in China and either shipped in powder form to consumers in the US or it's going to Mexico where it's being used to replace more expensive drugs like meth, ecstasy or imposter drugs like fake Vicodin pills. Congress was told this by medical experts in 2023 when Republicans tried to pass the legislation the last time.

This is why politicians shouldn't be inserting themselves into medical practice.

Why did they pass it? Because Republicans wanted to trap Democrats into voting "No" on a bill they're marketing to "fix" the overdose problem. Never mind that most people got addicted to opioids because they received a prescription from a physician. Never mind that the young people who overdose on fentanyl thought that they were taking another drug like ecstasy, molly, a pain bill or speed. The Republicans are putting out press releases patting themselves on the back and saying that "President Trump is fighting the opioid crisis" (which became epidemic during the first Trump Administration) and has been on the decline since. 🤮

Making it Schedule I makes it look like Congress is doing something about the overdose problem. It's akin to "abstinence" bills to combat teen pregnancy.

Is there anything that these deplorables won't lie about?

Welp America, get ready for some actual pain if this gets through.

Sadly, addicts will just move on to another drug. Addicts are some of the most creative and resourceful people that you will ever meet. They have to be.

I do feel bad for the people with end-stage cancer or chronic pain. They don't have many options.

This is interesting because in Canada, Schedule 1 drugs are still totally used in medical care if needed.

When I almost choked to death a couple of years ago, I got the Fentanyl/Ketomine combo....never want it again...but understand why it is so effective.

I suspect this is all performative at this point and will be unenforceable as HCPs find their balls to fight back.

Or like so many other things in the US, will everyone just comply in advance out of fear for their own careers and laying low in order to not attract the laser focus of the fascists looking for people and organizations to make examples of?
