To add some framing to this...

When the Chinese companies were hit with tariffs on goods made in China during the first Trump Administration, those companies moved final assembly of many products to Vietnam. That way, the products were exported to the US as "made in Vietnam" which excluded them from the tariffs.

The Vietnamese were happy to make deals with the Chinese because Trump had pulled the US out of the TransPacific Partnership in 2017 which included a trade partnership with Vietnam.

In Trump Admin #2, Trump is using threats of tariffs against countries to get his personal companies favorable deals. This includes getting a communist country, Vietnam, to fork out $1 billion dollars to build a Trump golf course in Vietnam. If the deal does go through, Vietnam will get much lower tariffs.

Trump loves tariffs but his spawn are working the other side of the deal, getting deals that personally enrich the Trump family, as part of an extortion racket.

This is how business works in the Philippines, Russia and places where Mafia and other syndicates have an undue influence on government.

If you're a MAGA supporter, you can commit any crimes and Trump will pardon you. They literally said "No MAGA left behind"!

They had videos of this sheriff accepting bags of cash!

President Trump issued a full pardon Monday to a former Virginia sheriff who had been convicted of bribery, alleging that he was a victim of a “weaponized” Justice Department under the Biden administration.

Trump announced his pardon of Scott Jenkins, who was convicted in December of accepting more than $70,000 in bribes in exchange for appointing local businessmen as auxiliary deputy sheriffs in the office.

And reality show closet cases get a pardon... for bank fraud and tax evasion... as in "waste, fraud and abuse".

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he’s planning to pardon TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, famous for “Chrisley Knows Best,” a reality show that followed their tight-knit family and extravagant lifestyle that prosecutors said was boosted by bank fraud and hiding earnings from tax authorities.

The Chrisleys were convicted in 2022 of conspiring to defraud banks in the Atlanta area out of more than $30 million in loans by submitting false documents. They were also found guilty of tax evasion, obscuring their earnings while showcasing a luxurious way of living that authorities said included high-priced cars, designer clothes, real estate and travel.

More from Pardon-A-Palooza...

Paul Walczak is a nursing home executive from Florida. He withheld $10 million in payroll taxes from his employees' payroll checks. Instead of paying the money to the government, he used it to buy stuff for himself, including a $2 million yacht.

Walczak's mother became a fund-raiser for Trump's 2024 campaign. The mother was connected to the leak of Biden's daughter's personal diaries. The mother attended a $1 million per person fundraiser for Trump last month. Apparently, the $1 million was the magic number needed to get Paul Walczak a pardon.

Thanks to the pardon, Walczak gets his conviction wiped away, he doesn't have to pay the government $4.4 in penalties and he avoids going to prison for 18 months.

Mommy puts a million in and Trump, he put out.

Trump Pardoned Tax Cheat After Mother Attended $1 Million Dinner

Paul Walczak’s pardon application cited his mother’s support for the president, including raising millions of dollars and a connection to a plot to publicize a Biden family diary.

Mr. Walczak, a former nursing home executive who had pleaded guilty to tax crimes days after the 2024 election, submitted a pardon application to President Trump around Inauguration Day. The application focused not solely on Mr. Walczak’s offenses but also on the political activity of his mother, Elizabeth Fago.

Ms. Fago had raised millions of dollars for Mr. Trump’s campaigns and those of other Republicans, the application said. It also highlighted her connections to an effort to sabotage Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s 2020 campaign by publicizing the addiction diary of his daughter Ashley Biden — an episode that drew law enforcement scrutiny.

Then, Ms. Fago was invited to a $1-million-per-person fund-raising dinner last month that promised face-to-face access to Mr. Trump at his private Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla.

The TACO-In-Chief is unhappy about his nickname. :ROFLMAO:

maxresdefault.jpg

Traders have reportedly come up with the acronym TACO, which stands for “Trump always chickens out,” to take advantage of the trade environment created by the president’s habit of threatening to impose tariffs on countries, and then backing off at the last moment.
