The Egyptian government may have given $10 million to Donald Trump in 2017, violating U.S. law—but the investigation into the payment was squashed by Attorney General William Barr.

The Washington Post reports, citing unnamed sources, that an investigation began in 2017 that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi was seeking to give Trump $10 million to boost his 2016 election campaign. Federal investigators discovered in 2019 that, only five days before Trump was sworn into office, nearly $10 million in cash was withdrawn on behalf of an organization linked to Egyptian intelligence.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has authorized the release of $1.2 billion in U.S. military assistance to Egypt, despite human rights concerns that have held up previous funding.

The State Department said Friday it is notifying Congress that Pompeo has signed national security waivers allowing the money known as foreign military financing, or FMF, to be spent. Congress has 15 days to weigh in on the waivers, which were signed on Aug. 21 but not previously made public. It was not immediately clear why there was a delay in the notification. The money includes $1 billion for the current 2018 budget year and $195 million appropriated for 2017 that would have had to have been returned to the Treasury had it not been spent by Sept. 30.

In July, Pompeo had lifted a hold on another $195 million in FMF that Congress had approved for budget year 2016 but which former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had frozen due to the continuing human rights issues.

Trump and the rest of the magat republican fascist sycophants will not have second thoughts about going completely scorched earth if they don't get what they demand. I mean, look at it, with what they are doing, they're already half-way there. The health care system is nearly destroyed, taking away rights, the economy is close to the brink, they're building concentration camps, unleashing the military on citizens.
 
All so true but the one thing that is really on the pig's mind or what's left of it, is revealed by his reaction to the unflattering Time photo. Never mind the fraud, the bribes, the prostitutes and teenage girls. All it will take is one picture taken before the morning hair spraying ritual, showing just how bald the dotard is and his self confidence will shatter.

Perhaps Trump was over in the middle east in hopes that he could find a camel capable of going through the eye of a needle?

There's a couple of interesting books that have come out recently that call out faux Christians and Christian Nationalists for backing Trump, citing the forgotten red letters in the New Testament. One suggestion that John Fugelsang has is to ask MAGA Christians to give any example of an scriptural teaching of Christ that Trump has cited to justify what he's doing. Taking care of the poor? Housing the homeless? Feeding the hungry? Sheltering the immigrant?

Another suggestion: instead of arguing over whether to put the Ten Commandments on public monuments and in classrooms, suggest that Republicans put the Sermon on the Mount or The Beatitudes.

These guys like Mike Johnson and Donald Trump are religious but they're not Christian. And if what they say they believe is true, they ain't going the heaven. They're not even on the candidate-for-heaven list. Sadly, it seems that Satan is taking his time, because he doesn't want to listen to Trump's incoherent babbling, either.
