Trump this.

Don't wait by the phone, the litigation is going to take forever and there won't be a Jan 6 commission by the time this is resolved.

Sadly this is true.

Trump will use up millions of dollars of suckers' money in appeals.

We will NEVER see him testify.

The subpoena was pro forma - they know as well as we do that it will never happen. That's not the point anyway. They wanted to make sure the process was respected so that in the future as many loopholes as possible will have been closed.

They'll issue a report before January if the Dems lose the House - that will be that. There's no chance the committee will be allowed to drag on into the new year and give McCarthy (if indeed he wins - that's not a given) the opportunity to fuck with it.

Within that time frame, it's absolutely impossible to move through the system quickly enough to force some kind of testimony from the toad.

It doesn't really matter anyway. The Jan 6th committee is not a judicial body, they can refer him to Justice and that's all they can do. Nothing we've seen so far even comes close to being enough evidence to convict him of anything in an actual criminal trial. So, Justice will not pursue the matter unless there's evidence that they aren't sharing, or there's something new.

That is as it should be - even for the toad, I'm not willing to support a system that convicts on suspicion. That's what the 'pubs do.

Knowing he did it, and proving it is not the same thing.

You may be underestimating the need of guys like Trump to be in the news and in front of a camera.

Don't be surprised if he starts making offers to testify but only if he gets a prime-time live coverage. Now that most cable outlets don't cover his rallies live, he may be unable to turn down the offer to be on the TV.

That subpoena is just danmingly scathing :=D:

I hope to God he makes that blunder, but I don't think he will. Something else will have to happen to bring that about. At the moment he's getting all the attention while the talking head brigade sits around speculating just what he's going to do. If however, there's some kind of new development that's either extremely damning or that worm in Florida gets too popular - or he loses immediately in a court that moves like the very wind to force his hand; and he then decides to pretend he isn't being forced, maybe. Even his shit lawyers know better than to go along with the subpoena. I'm certain it's already in litigation, which means at least three levels of appeal. Frankly, I think it would take a disaster somewhere else he wants to distract from, to force him into that chair. Which is certainly a possibility with the toad.

He might make offers to testify, then he'll get all the attention he wants and never actually show up. I don't think he'll do even that. He hates Pelosi so much he's not going to do anything to accommodate her.

Hi lawyers will never let him testify. And as has been noted numerous times...he will run out the clock.

He listens to lawyers?

I think it would be hard for poopsie to turn down an opportunity to be in the spotlight AND play the victim.

I'll just leave his here on the subject of taking advice from lawyers.... ;)

So, has anyone heard any of them? I confess I missed this completely.

He actually did when he was supposed to testify for the Mueller report. After trying to coach him, the lawyers realized he would incriminate himself and convinced him not to appear.

The only advantage to him testifying in front of the committee would be to go on record claiming the Fifth, knowing that his answers would have no weight in an actual criminal case.

It seems like when he didn't get indicted for the Russia mess and Barr inhumed all of the obstruction charges detailed in the Mueller Report, Trump was unleashed. Since then, attorneys have told him not to take children away from their parents, they have told him that he lost the election, they have told him there was no massive election fraud, they told him that much of what he did after Nov 2020 was illegal. When he gets advice that he doesn't want to hear, he just shops for an attorney that tells him what he wants to hear.

True that. Once the monster was unchained, he definitely has become a legal firm's worst nightmare.

Just whatever clips they broadcast on the news. They're more than 8 hours long. If I listened to Trump for 8 hours, I don't know if I would need a stomach pump or a brain enema.
I started on it yesterday and have less than an hour left. You learn nothing new but you hear him in his own words and how ill equipped he was. Everything was about "me me me" what they did to me, how good my poll numbers were, how big his rallys were and he couldn't stay on topic. If didn't want to answer a question he goes off on a tangent and he takes no responsibility for covid, not that anyone blamed him for the virus, his blame was the action or inaction "WE HAVE IT UNDER CONTROL" not being taken and of course he blame the media for almost everything even if they just reported what he said. Mind you Woodard has done about 3 books on him and he talked to him or gave him access to his people each time so he doesn't care who talks about him as long as they are talking. One of "wtf" was when Bob asked him to talk about what he is planning to do about the virus and he says he is very busy and has to run and then proceeds to talk about how big his rallies were. Also Obama & Bush's name came up repeatedly about what he did they could never do, and how the govs needed him for ventilators, etc. and me being Black, if I hear hear "ive done more for the Blacks" i will scream! I've never been to jail and i'm not in college so criminal reform nor college donations put money in my pocket but he act like that was just the end all be all.
