Trump this.

It also needs to be reiterated once again that those so-called moderates had no problems catering to the bigots and religiously intolerant for decades - any real look at the policy and m.o. employed by Republicans over time, the number of "moderates" shrinks to vanishingly small. Disliking the toad does not make one a moderate.
Yes, agree. thumbsup.gif

We are not hearing from them because so few of them are there. Pretty much half of those who voted in the mid-terms, voted for Trumpites. Margins were very close. We were lucky to out-vote them in many races. But yeah....we heard from millions of rank and file who still worship Trump and who stand for his agenda. If there were a significant moderate republican electorate, we would not have had all those incompetent, unqualified, extremist republican fascist candidates nominated in the primaries. Yeah, I am grateful for the handful of moderate voters, media, and elected officials, but they are no match for the millions of voters and elected officials who are still dedicated to the authoritarian fascist agenda. Not to mention, the ever expanding far Reich media. Those "moderates" are like trying to extinguish an erupting volcano with a bottle of Pepsi.

And just wait. It is true, there may be some in the media trying to pull away. But when/if it becomes evident that those millions of voters (who are the ones that really count), still want Trump, all that media will be back worshipping at the feet of Der Trumpenführer.
You know what I haven't seen in about 15 years? Republicans disagreeing with each other on policy or politics. They join the party because they like what they see, not with any intentions of fixing the party. Anyone who disagrees with them on whether the sky is blue or cerulean is an "evil commie librul marxist that must be destroyed." You can name any topic from abortion to CRT to immigration to BLM to gay marriage, you won't find 10 republicans out of rank with the party, voter or politician.

There are no moderates, your volcano analogy is spot-on. If you try to change the party, or even just step out of line an inch, see how well that worked for Cheney or Kinzinger's 5 year old son who got death threats for Adam not kissing Trump's ring, even Trump himself got cannibalized when he conceded POTUS to Biden, they skewered him for "not doing enough to keep the white house."

At best, if this mythical moderate republican exists, they're doing one big exercise in futility. They're the green party of the republican party, totally useless and self-defeating.

Moderate Republicans exist. They're either in the business/Chamber of Commerce or they're women.

It's the white males without a college degree that are the more conservative/libertarian voters in the Republican Party.

He stole 3,000 pounds of stuff... including the sword!

Trump's lawyers found two MORE classified documents in a Florida storage unit filled with gifts, 'swords and wrestling belts' when his legal team searched his properties after the Mar-a-Lago raid [Daily Mail]
  • The attorneys uncovered the documents at a storage unit
  • Items held in northern Virginia were shipped there when Trump left office
  • A person familiar said unit contained 'all sorts of things'
  • An estimated 3,000 pounds got shipped there
  • 'It was suits and swords and wrestling belts and all sorts of things'
  • The FBI recovered 100 documents marked classified in MAL search
  • Special counsel took oversight after Trump announced presidential campaign

Well at least they were secure, kinda-sorta :rotflmao:

I am not sure if they're moderate or only claim to be moderate. I just have this gut feeling that in the privacy of the voting booth where no one else knows, they still vote for the far reich candidate. If they are real moderates, there sure aren't enough of them.

Yep. Pretty much all of this. thumbsup.gif

When did Trump concede to Biden? I must have missed that.

Not verbally but when he failed to "recapture" the white house they took that as him accepting defeat and turned on him. I'll never forget it cuz I was watching a video about it thinking "Jesus they're turning on each other." It was scary and fascinating at the same time.

A simple 'forward and back' motion and he can't even do that right.
Someone needs to take that clip and add a Y-M-C-A soundtrack.

Last comment and I'll stop derailing about republicans: they are all-in with their party.

Prime example: Herschel Walker's admittedly deplorable son is being torched by republicans for speaking out against his father, even his mother (reminder: a single mom who was abused by walker repeatedly) is being insulted. Where are the republicans saying "Stop, this is inappropriate?" I've scrolled through multiple social media platforms and all I see is "lolz" and 'yeah fuck that kid.' They know what they're signing up for and it's not competent economic policies and inclusion. They want the hate politics and bullying. If there's someone standing up to all this and trying to center the party and get them focused, point em out to me, I'll send em a Godiva basket.

There is no shortage of footage of presidents on the right or left having to play footsies with he Saudis. It is a cynical marriage that almost every country makes on some front or issue.

That said, if Trump appears poised to be the nominee and to be approaching re-election, it is incumbent on the rest of the nation, over 170 million citizens, to defend the nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic, which most certainly includes any man who has openly demonstrated through his impeachable crimes over Ukrainian arms, through his uncontested refusal to defend the Congress as it executed its Constitutional duty to the electorate, and from his many statements denying the rule of law. If that defense isn't possible through the elected "leadership" of officials of state, through the appointed soldiers and forces designated to defend us, then we should take up arms and revolt until the populace retakes this government to re-establish the rule of law.

That may entail marching on government buildings, making peaceful protests, or taking pitchforks, or force of arms, to tar and feather any such enemy, including former presidents.

Civility has been the standard of political action and governmental service until the Trump Administration. That is the preferred standard and first course of action for citizens.

If . . . that . . . fails, we must not shrink from the duty we all have to return our nation to law, and block any return to descent into the Maelstrom. As has been claimed already, if Trump is ever allowed to put his hands on the levers of power again at the highest level, then our republic is done.

And if we shrink from being brave enough to die for our democracy, then we do not deserve its liberties.

You need to have your gay card taken away. It’s YMCA :rotflmao:
It is (fixed). In spite of the gay card, I'm of the age group where typing class was only for girls. :)

Done and done. Some very clever editing in this:

I suspect the person who made that video didn't intend it to be a parody. ;)

After years of YMCA, the macarena and the electric slide, I now skip weddings. This is one more reminder of why.
