I keep thinking this has been the reason for the slowness in bringing charges...that a lot of time has gone into identifying what each document was and then where it likely went.

It is almost a certainly, give Bin Salman's actions and the death of a lot of Intelligence assets that it went to the Sauds and likely the Kremlin...although I wouldn't put it past Trump to have also sold out to North Korea.
