It seems that we're in that "Constitutional Crisis" that a lot of legal experts have been warning about since 2016.

That second impeachment was the prevention but 43 Republican Senators thought it better that we go the criminal route (all Democratic Senators, the 2 independents and 7 Republican Senators* voted Yes on impeachment), so here we are.

*Three of those Republican Senators - Burr, Sasse, Toomey had decided not to run for re-election.
