Trump this.

Tragically familiar sounding. Sounds a helluva lot like the Beer Hall Putsch, with the exception the GOP appears to be all castrati, so the Trumpists will succeed.
This is what is happening because of Toad.

Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) will retire from Congress next week, he said Tuesday, a stunning announcement that will narrow the House GOP’s razor-thin majority even further. Buck — who has become known for breaking from his party on various issues and criticizing Republicans on election denialism — announced last year that he would depart the House at the end of his current term, but expedited that timeline Tuesday...

Toad took over the RNC, everyone knows the cray cray is coming. Time for the least crazy to head fer them hills. The first thing that happens is revenge and punishment for any Trog who ever stepped out of line. The RNC is going to eat itself, and the people Toad will demand will be fucking lunatics.

Schadenfreude.

The danger posed to Donald Trump’s finances by two recent judgments against him has been, if anything, underappreciated. The size of the awards, the structure of the former president’s business empire, and the condition of the real-estate market combine to create a truly perilous moment for the former president’s company and, by extension, for Trump’s personal finances.

Trump must put up the $83.3 million awarded to the writer E. Jean Carroll for defamation by March 11. He also owes more than $450 million—the amount continues to grow because of interest—in a fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, and must put up cash or post a bond by March 25. He has appealed both decisions.

Trump doesn’t have that money on hand. In an April 2023 deposition for the fraud case, Trump said, “We have a lot of cash. I believe we have substantially in excess of $400 million in cash, which is a lot for a developer. Developers usually don’t have cash. They have assets, not cash. We have, I believe, $400-plus and going up very substantially every month.”

Well now he has the RNC piggy bank to plaunder.....

But I think people are failing to see the bigger picture. He was able to post the bond for Carroll thanks to the Moscow based branch of CHUBB....as a PutinCo. investment.

The Kremlin will back his other bond too...because they know they will get their money's worth if he is installed as President.

The Chubb-Moscow connections were posted on social media. They were debunked by the fact checkers.
The U.S.-based Federal Insurance Co., a subsidiary of global insurance giant Chubb, secured former President Donald Trump’s $91.6 million bond to cover the amount he owes writer E. Jean Carroll after a verdict in her defamation lawsuit.
Chubb is based in Zurich and operates in 54 countries and territories. About 59% of the company’s revenue comes from its U.S. business.
Chubb has businesses in Russia, which accounted for a small portion of its revenue. Chubb decoupled from these businesses after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, a spokesperson said.

I was puzzled why yet another reputable company would sully its name by getting into the flea-ridden bed with a sexual predator. Apparently, Chubb got enough backlash that their CEO had to release an "open letter" making excuses about how it was "all bidness". When are people going to learn?

The top executive of the major insurance company Chubb defended underwriting former President Trump’s appeal bond in E. Jean Carroll’s defamation lawsuit Wednesday.

“When Chubb provides an appeal bond it has nothing to do with the underlying merits or with favoring any of the parties in the case,” Evan Greenberg, Chubb’s chair and CEO, wrote in a letter to customers who inquired about the decision.

“As the surety, we don’t take sides, it would be wrong for us to do so and we are in no way supporting the defendant,” he continued. “We are supporting and are part of the justice system plumbing included in this case.

I don't. Lurch has no reason left to support Toad, but more apropos, Lurch is entirely irrelevant to anything whatsoever. Who cares? Not us, not Toad's horde, quite literally no one.

But I bet he still votes for him.
It's possible, but he has publicly stated he wouldn't, so the effect of that would presumably outweigh any duplicity if he planned to lie. Surely thousands of his camp will not vote for Trump as Pence advocated.

Gee, both of Pence's supporters might care...but likely not.

By not doing the right thing for years now, Pence has no moral authority at this point. And certainly no clout politically at this point.

History has already judged him for his silence, and more importantly, the Christian right that has turned a blind eye to every uncharitable, immoral, and criminal act that Trump has openly committed.

What still amazes me is that all of Trump's minions in office have literally a slew of examples of him demanding everything from his toadies and then turning on them if they do a single act of conscience. It's a long list of those whom he has bullied, stabbed, disowned, and demeaned. How can they not see that they hold more power than he does if they merely had the courage to use it and FORM an actual fucking political party.

The lot of them, including Trump, are followers. They're tapping into the mob's fears and greed and dishonesty, not leading.

If Pence is actually serious about defeating Trump, he needs to come out and say "I won't vote for Trump, I will vote for Joe Biden and so should you". He KNOWS that not voting at all, or voting for a nobody who cannot win, is a lost vote for Biden which helps Trump win the electoral college vote of their state. All these other supposed anti-Trump republicans need to do the same. If they won't muster up the humility to do it, they are de facto supporting and voting for Trump, as well as encouraging others to do the same - even if their words are different. It could actually do a lot of good among more independent republicans and centrists if they would say it.

He likely votes in Indiana, so his vote would be inconsequential, either way. :(

On the other hand, if he moves to Nevada or Michigan...

The citizen in me won't say that a vote is never inconsequential. It may not be decisive, or pivotal, but every voter's ballot is consequential. I had good friends who mocked me voting for one who would not win some years back, and I will never forget that unkind jibe. Vote your convictions.

100% agree, or at least back a 3rd party. I'm sick of hearing Republicans call Trump down for all his crimes and vices, and then turn tail and kowtow when they've lost. The list of turncoats is very long indeed. And Senator McConnell is no more than a rank coward. He made a stand against Trump for years, but then, with no future election to lose, crawled back to endorse him.

Unprincipled.

The far right is counting on people losing the interest to vote. Or making it so difficult to vote that people give up...because the mantra is 'It won't matter, nothing really changes no matter who is in power.

Sadly, a Presidential vote is inconsequential for a majority of Americans because we won't get rid of the Electoral College system which too often makes it so.

I always vote every time the opportunity presents itself. Lot of good that does me. I'm tired of having to vote for the Democrat simply because the Torg is deplorable, a liar, and corrupt. I'd like to vote for someone for a change, but nope, every time I push the button - half the ballot is unchecked because there just are no Democrats in those races and the Libertarian is scarier than the Trog - I wonder if the Trogs are even counting my ballot.

Toad would like to bring this feeling to the rest of you. My vote may not count, but for a lot of you, it's critical; unless you all want to be just like Texas - do something.
