Trump this.

Kellyanne is back at her old tricks again. She's really just Roger Stone repackaged as a histrionic Fundamentalist soccermom.

George should get credit for being a consistent messenger for "Republicans who haven't drunk the KoolAid."

And depending on how you look at it, it either ended his marriage or freed him from his marriage to you-know-who.

(emphasis mine)
Who could that be?

Okay.

I will grant that George is trying to make things right.

I didn't know about his Biden contribution...so he was certainly there at the right time.

(emphasis mine)

She is a trickster.

It's this one that I always think of... Kellyanne has spent a small fortune on cosmetic surgery because she loves being in front of a camera. She even tried the Mama Rose angle with the daughter.

None. Of. This. Is. Normal.

Pretending Trump's ear was uninjured is misdirected. It's very likely he's either had a prosthesis made if he's lost a portion of it, or that he's had some expensive cosmetic makeup put there in order to give his acceptance speech without the ear muff tonight.

He had no need to fake an injury.

He's done plenty without having to be petty about an actual assassination attempt. Trying to make him into some comic book ubervillain is counterproductive, as it then causes all the legitimate calling out of lies into question.

Don't muddy the waters with lies about the shooting. Keep the focus on all his actual and unquestionably illegal acts.

I'll bet the SS got an earful this week.

Toad has no need to lie about 99.9999% of the things he lies about.

...and yet he goes on lying. He inhabits the conspiracy universe; performative outrage is certainly part of it. I find it strange that anyone would think somehow NOW he's going to be someone else.

Recognize some of these names? They are all busy working on how to turn the US into a right wing religious oligarchy/kleptocracy.

And a lot of them will be quickly reinstalled in a Trump adminstration to enact the policies they are currently penning.

^ I don't recall hearing of any of them. I suppose I should look up the Project 2025 propaganda. Just not in the mood.....

Jesus.

A document that would eradicate all lgbtq rights and you just aren't in the mood.....

and meanwhile in Canada, I recognize a number of the names because of the damage they did to citizens of the US the first time around.

Project 2025 isn't propaganda.

It is the blueprint for the takeover of US government by the far right.

But I am increasingly coming to realize that our neighbours to the south seem to be open to the idea of living under an autocratic dictatorship of the religious right and kleptocrats instead of defending the ideals of inclusive democracy.

It is so easy to see how Germany slid into the Third Reich.

"A document that would eradicate all lgbtq rights and you just aren't in the mood....."

I don't think that's going to happen. We can get married, right? Wasn't that the Real Big Deal we wanted? I always thought so. And you can't fire someone for being gay now anymore than you can fire them for being from Quebec or California or by the color of their skin.

Yeah. I'm not in the mood. I'm dealing with the stupid shit that you have to deal with when your hubby of 42 years or so suddenly fucking dies mid-conversation of a massive heart attack.

The only good I can say about that event is that EMS was here real quick. Not that it mattered, I saw his irises dilate. Before I could get to the phone. At least it was instant.

All of the folks I'm dealing with are nice.... but it's so slow to do anything. I know. They have procedures. And I'm not the only one they are dealing with.

So, yeah. I'm not in the mood to piss around with google to find out about the latest scary thing that some folks are spreading on the 'Net.

Sorry for going off on you.

Condolances on your loss.

Various Republicans over the course of the last few years are salivating to end Obergefell v. Hodges the same way they ended Roe v. Wade. all that's needed for marriage to disappear is for the relevant case to get up to the S.C. These people are trying to end no fault divorce, extra marital sex, ban contraception, and the sodomy laws are not far behind.

I dunno. We are supposedly a nation of 50 countries. Fifty experiments. We started as 13 colonies, all different.

Alabama outlaws abortion? Go to to another state. The Federal Gov is suppose to protect the borders and sort of "smooth differences" between the various States. It's sort of like the EU combining all of the European countries into a unit.

The gay marriage thing, yeah, that should be federal simply because if you get married in Kentucky the marriage should be valid in any other state. We've done this before. It use to be illegal for a white to marry a black.

Condolances on your loss.
Thanks man. It's been well, a different experience. I've pretty much have always been the youngest. Don't know why or how that happened. But while knowing 30+ years ago I'm going to outlive everyone, the actual happening is not a thing of joy.

This year has been the year of death. Hubby, a friend in SA, a couple of kittens just laying in the pathway, my last emu, and my ivy plant I've had since 1978, the cockatiel use to eat on it while I was paying bills way back in '82, just gave up. I dunno. Stuff seems to just pile up.

If it were up to the states Marriage would still be banned in at least half the country. That is the first step. Call it a "States Rights" issue. Then someone would sue a state that allows marriage on behalf of a state that doesn't - using some reason invented for the purpose in some right-wing circuit, like the fourth, that would go up to the Supreme Court and these justices would ban it nationwide.

This isn't speculation. They talk about this and the other stuff publicly. The Republicans hope to institute a national abortion ban as well. That will happen like this, Congress, if it goes back to the right will pass a national abortion ban and Toad will sign it. Immediately CA and some others would sue and then that goes up the the Supreme Court where the right-wing justices will find that Congress supersedes the individual states, and the ban will stand.

This isnt speculatiobn. They are doindg this now, there are current;y seveal cases in the system making their way up to the S.C. with the potential to limit or end gay marriage.

There's no "I don't know" about it. The Heritage Foundation and others have been engineering this possibility for decades and now with far-right zealots in the majority on the court there is nothing that is safe.

I hope things look up for you, losing a loved one is a significant blow and I hope you have a support system to lean on.

Not really. They have their lives. I'm cool with that. I just have to watch the pacing around the house. The dogs get upset, they can tell I'm bouncing off of the walls.

Speaking of, it's time for their supper. :)

I've been concerned by the talk off and on over the years of cultural conservatives finding ways of rolling back LGBT rights.

But, at the same time, it's not relevant for me. I can't afford to even go on a date--assuming I had some way of finding someone to date, which I don't--let alone get married.

Yesterday, I was thinking about a local Pride Event. Based on the memories of the last time I went, that place was probably rife with elected officials from the "Democratic" Party. I'd really have loved to go to that even this year in hopes of seeing one person allegedly representing me in the legislature so that I could discuss how I'm getting killed by the cost of living, which is not helped by the way she's never met a tax or fee she didn't like. (I am still wincing over how much it cost to renew my driver's license last time!) I feel like rising taxes, fees, and overall cost of living increases in my state--with no end in sight-- is preparation for anal sex. Except I'll realistically never have a chance at a sexual experience that does not involve my right hand.

Meanwhile, LGBT people who are better off than me tell me I need to support the "Democratic" Party 100%, because of LGBT rights. I've gotten that message a number of times, in a number of places, including another forum that just about rendered me persona non grata a few years ago. Fine, and I understand their views. But until/unless the "Democratic" Party decides to start doing stuff to make my life better, they have lost my vote.

I never heard any of those names before, that I remember, but I know that I am against Project 2025. I'm not sure where they would have appeared that I could have seen them. You probably read more than I do. Plus I don't remember half of what I do read or hear.

At least half a dozen of them are in the Deplorables thread or the Revolving Door thread in CE&P.
