Trump trying to spread his bullshit lies in front of billionaires in Davos at the Economic Forum. His performance is being ridiculed for the lies and his apparent ignorance of how tarriffs work....but what is telling is that he appears to want to go to war with the entire world...at some point, I supect that he will openly ally the US with Rzzia because that is one of the only states that will support him.

I would love to have been in the room while the movers and shakers in international economics listened to his nonsense.

That didn’t take long

There's an editorial from Peggy Noonan published this week where she posits that the Democrats are being shrewd in letting Trump" fix issues like immigration and DEI because by eliminating the issue that lost the Democrats the election in 2024, the Republicans won't have anything to run on in 2026.

The thing that Noonan has a blind spot on is that the more things on the extreme right wing wish list that Trump ticks off, the less the Republicans need Trump. If Trump does all the Project 2025 things in the first two years, the Republicans can get rid of term-limited Trump and JD Vance can run in 2028 because he's not term limited. In fact, JD might be able to run again in 2032. Eventually the Republicans will figure this out.

I’ve been warning that I think JD would be worse than trump because he’s already proven he’ll do anything his handlers tell him to do, he has no ego controlling him like trump.

But Trump is nothing if not utterly transactional and Putin knows this as well as anyone.

And if Trump hands Putin the win on Ukraine and Europe, he will believe he owns Putin and the rrrzznz.

There will be elections, how fair they are is another topic.

Last time I talked to my mom she was gossiping about several of the women at her church being shocked that prices didn't fall overnight, having gotten rid of Biden. That level of stupidity isn't curable.

Well along those lines....I having been reading stories about how some people cheering the end of DEI programs...didn't realize that it ended jobs and training for disabled Veterans, who are part of the DEI program.

Now I know we all knew a LOT of stupid boys and girls in grade school and Public school and even met some really stupid people once we went to college and university who really didn't seem to grasp how fairly fundamental things worked. Including basic supply and demand economics.

Our stupidest people in Canada seem to still also believe that the leader of the country personally sets the prices of all gas and oil, and of course, their groceries, so I get that some of the church women all hooped up on huffing Aquanet might also have that same precarious grasp on the fundamentals.

And these are the people breeding and voting.
