Fox added tons of cheering to their video coverage. That doesn’t surprise me. What does is how clumsily it was done; anyone should catch it immediately. This is from Keith Edwards on YouTube. I commented:

Keith, I think you're the first to point this out. I've been feasting on schadenfreude since the debacle, taking in every aspect of this failure I can find, and this is news to me. I've expected digital crowds added to videos, because I think it can be done quickly, and after getting away with using a Sharpie to doctor a map, why wouldn't he? But this surprised me. I worked in radio and there's nothing at all to manipulating audio subtlety. Having the effects on a single track and pulling it down is hilarious, as crude as the Sharpie, but why waste the time if you know your audience is as brain dead as Fox's?

In the same vein, I was reading an article today about the "Succession" trial in Nevada where Rupert Murdoch was trying to change the Murdoch Trust to prevent the more liberal and moderate Murdoch children from getting control of Fox News and the Murdoch newspapers.

There was a point in the depositions where Rupert's lawyer asked the more moderate son, James Murdoch, if Fox's ratings dropped after Fox News declared Biden the winner in Arizona after 2020. James agreed that the ratings did drop, although he said that the news section of Fox was just presenting the truthful facts.

Rupert's lawyer then asked James if the ratings went back up when Fox started giving viewers the news that they wanted to hear, again.

Pretty much an admission- Fox has abandoned any reality-based news reporting. Their sole mission now is to be an agent of confirmation bias- they figure out what their viewers want to hear and they feed the viewers the alternate facts that agree with their viewers' views.

That video is just another example.
