It does, but after being accused of and admonished for doing something she has been doing since coming to this forum after having been asked not to do it by several posters here (including myself), I refuse to give her the satisfaction of admitting that I am wrong for simply explaining what 'protocol' means.

Staff made up the amounts based on estimates.

The US President is said to have had an 'invoice' printed out outlining the sum estimated by his aides as covering Germany's unpaid contributions for defence.

Said to be presented during private talks in Washington, the move has been met with criticism from German and Nato officials.

If this is real and not 'fake news', he is either doing a political stunt or he completely fails to understand how NATO is funded. Germany doesn't pay us directly for 'services rendered'.
 
Well a number of NATO and German officials had to state last week that Trump apparently didn't understand how NATO works.

I've now seen this report about the NATO invoice from three different sources and supposedly confirmed by a Germany minister. No wonder she was giving him the evil eye throughout the state visit, he essentially insulted a major ally and NATO partner head of state during what was supposed to be a friendly meet and greet. By all that is divine, someone have a come to Jesus sit down with this man and explain to him the importance of his Protocol staff before he destroys the stability of the Western World.

She is a major power in a regional bloc that has an economy equivalent or larger than the USA's.
He is foolish to test that.
 
I also wonder if he understands that the money the US pays is going directly into into the US military industrial complex...the same one that he wants to give another 54 billion dollars this year to build more ships.

If he thinks that Europe is going to be funding arms manufacturing in Bumfuck, Idaho...he's delusional.

At any rate, this leak is really, really embarrassing for the White House. It is pure Stephen Bannon, manipulating Trump's ignorance.

Of course, the other side of it is that TrumpCo. is working to weaken NATO in order to make Putin's expansionist thugs happy.

Maybe Trump thinks that he had a great meeting with Merkel but she and her government...and now the German people, have to be thinking that he is just a sophomoric asshole who shouldn't have the nuclear codes.
