Actually, it is about removing the forcing of me to have someone use the bathroom with me with whom I am not comfortable, as it has been for, like, at least a thousand years.

It has never been that way, there is no aspect of law that protects you from being uncomfortable in a public place. There are men who make me uncomfortable being around but I have to put up with them in the public bathroom just like everyone else. In high school there were bullies and others in my gym class I was extremely uncomfortable being a room with. I had no recourse about that. Some of them suspected me of being gay which is why they bullied me, and i would guess they were uncomfortable being around me but they had no recourse either unless they were going to be absent from gym.

There's this thing called underwear, perhaps you've heard of it. And towels. You have possibly seen shower curtains in your many years as well? Let us all hope that it's been so. You are probably also unaware that locker rooms contain toilets and stalls with doors, in which many a teenager has crawled into their gym clothes.

If grown men gave a shit what 12yr old girls actually wanted then they wouldn't be changing in front of their peers in the first place so I doubt many teenagers believe said grown men actually have their best interests at heart in the 'undressing' and 'clothing choices' arena; particularly when they've watched you interact with such 'care' about it in the rest of the world. Makes the screeching of "I give a damn!" from your end sound like a leaky balloon.

I would note that a number of jurisdictions and schools have allowed transgender students to use the bathroom that matches their sexual identity while all this debate has been going on.

As of July 2016, there were 21 states and 225 jurisdictions that that prohibit discrimination based on gender identity in either employment, housing, and/or public accommodations.

And it is good to keep in mind that in the real world the majority of what I see, people don't have an issue with sharing bathrooms. The only issue people seem to have is how these bathroom adjustments have been implemented rather then who these people have to share them with. Again, because these people are adults with no hang ups who just want to use the bathroom and don't care about who is using them, they just want to relieve themselves.

It is a decision to be made at the state or local level, and not within the jurisciction of Obama the dictator.

Or homo marriage should be a states right?

Any citizen of the US should be entitled to the same degree of protection and equal rights whether they are visiting Bumfuck, Kentucky or NoseBleed, Colorado.

Every student in a federally funded school should be afforded the blanket protection of the federal government in every state and territory.

And let us remember here. Obama didn't start this.

It was a couple of states that wanted to get back at lgbt for equal marriage and rammed through a toilet law that actually was in conflict with the policies of universities. Obama was just stepping in to make sure that the contagion wouldn't infect the lives of young trans students in need of legal protection against the pitchfork wielding religious fascists trying to cram their transphobia down everyone else's throat.

The court should hold that bathroom assignment based upon sexual/biological/anatomical identity is permissible under the law and is at keast as valid as "gender" identity, if not more so. As a judge I would ask the question: do you claim that trans people are entitled to use the showers of their gender identity. Notice that one propostion claims that safety and privacy to thr majority do not justify the classification. Thst is a very bad argument but it only an amicus cruiae brief.
I would expect the court to split on party lines, so the school board will win by default if Gorsuch or a another republican is not on the court or a decision if he is.

Whether or not one believes that a student who believes himself or herself to be transgender should be allowed to choose the restroom of his or her choice, the Obama administration erred in arguing that Title IX mandated it. If Congress chooses to do so through further legislation it can do so. It hasn't. The Trump administration has acted correctly in rescinding the Obama administration recommendation.
