I don't get joy or satisfaction from Herman Cain's death. he was a useful idiot to Trumpism, to the Tea Party insanity that has captured the Republican Party. But of all politicians with malevolent intent(including some like Ted Cruz and Louis Gohmert) diagnosed with COVID, Cain was black and 74, a cancer survivor leaving him with a potentially compromised immune system. As usual in life, older people and people of color with potential underlying immune system problems... like Herman Cain... pay the price for the malfeasance and criminality Trump espouses and constantly doubles and triples down on. Trump is a virus himself, who infects and destroys everything and everyone he touches.

Mr Cain spent all the month of July in the hospital with complications of COVID-19 before succumbing. That had to be rough on his family.

Cain, like Dr Ben Carson, has an impressive resume- well-educated, successful business career, multimillionaire, cancer survivor... and then he got involved with the Tea Party crowd.

Now, he will be remembered not for his professional accomplishments but instead for the last couple of decades of his life where he was a living parody of a political candidate and for that fateful day he went to a Trump Rally in Tulsa...

What a waste of a life otherwise well-lived.

Few people get the chance to prevent their on death when it could easily have been prevented. Mr. Cain was one of those who literally murdered himself, and quite possibly many others.

And all through that Month his Twitter account was posting misinformation about COVID-19. There is no joy, but it was completely preventable. He was a part of the problem here.

Also at this point, I am not just going to respect or not “speak ill” of a person just because they died. If they weren’t such a great human being while alive, why should I have any respect or sympathy when they’re dead?

Oh, I don't have much praise for Cain, either. But he was, sadly, a fool and a tool. The real bastards are still alive, and still have either shamelessly backed Trump or are too cowardly to stand up to him and tell him to go fuck off. Power isn't worth this kind of price to our nation.

He's not even trying to fake showing a sense of responsibility any more. Donald feels unleashed, and that there is ANY crowd whatsoever, even far smaller than he thrives on... it's the thing that replenishes him, that sustains him... the adulation, the demagogue mode... EVERYONE running for Congress or Senate as a Republican who at best excused and enabled Trump out of fear of his base to those who actively, lovingly praise him and follow his every word aiding and abetting his criminal regime... they must be shown the door in November.
