The Deplorable-in-Chief is creating a media distraction so as to turn the attention away from the latest healthcare battle. He wants the Democrats to be perceived as out of touch saying that their issues are mainly about identity politics and not those that that will advance the economic interests of all Americans. This was what the Republicans did successfully during the transgender bathroom battle. While many Americans are suffering economically, what they're seeing from Democrats is talking about bathroom issues of transgenders. Perceptions, real or not, are politically important. They do not have to be true. It just needs to look like that.

Democrats must be strategic in fighting for economic interest of all Americans while catering to specific interests of various groups. They should not allow the Deplorable-in-Chief and his Republican minions to make Democrats be perceived as elitist snobs and out of touch. Walk and chew gum at the same time. From a distance, people will see you walking but they may or may not see you chewing gum.

Given that they do not have any control in the Legislature and the White House, it will be foolish for Democrats to engage the Deplorable-in-Chief in public. He is no pushover and there will only be a media circus showing Democrats that they were not able to exert pressure to that guy and we all know how people have no love for losers. If the Deplorable-in-Chief issue this demagoguery as a written executable policy, I say fight this deplorable order in Court on the grounds of discrimination. The allied groups of the Democratic Party should file a case in a district court and thus come with an injunction against it till it reaches the Supreme Court. I believe Justice Kennedy will join Justices Kagan, Sotomayor, Breyer and Ginsburg in overturning this deplorable order.
