Trump tweets because...he can.

In a world where soundbites/tweets/Facebook comments are the fashionable way of communicating ones thoughts, it can be argued that Trump won the election by using brevity to deliver his message, evidencing the overwhelming success of tweets to influence opinion.

Long winded exercises in intellectual brilliance are not going to persuade anyone, whose attention span lasts no more than two minutes.

And once again, Trump uses Twitter to outright lie and undermine the US intelligence services that in about 3 weeks he will have to rely on:

On Tuesday evening, Mr Trump said an intelligence briefing he was due to receive on the issue had been delayed.
"Perhaps more time needed to build a case. Very strange!" he wrote.
But US intelligence officials insisted there had been no delay in the briefing schedule.

He will eventually demolish Americans' faith in everything...one twitter at a time....until it is only the voice of the supreme leader that is heard.

140 characters or less.

Or he'll demolish public trust in him and his cabinet will run things while letting him run loose as a figurehead.

"Forming opinions and then spewing them on Twitter at 6 a.m. or 7 a.m. without thinking about them or having collected the information is idiotic." he said. "Let's not sit here and try to normalize what Trump is doing. This is insane behavior."

So one of the big Silicon Valley investors has weighed in on Trump's reckless approach to blurting out stuff without thinking or doing research.

There is a possibility that Trump may be the one to finally also break twitter....that eventually people will regard it as just the noise it is and demand more depth and substance to the Glorious Leader's pronouncements.

Why should one wonder why Trump is receiving so much publicity here, when it is clear that his tweeting is providing his enemies, and his supporters with discussion evidencing a successful communicator, notwithstanding that most of us posting here are saddened by the attention that Trump's moronic "sound bites" receives.

I'm not one to watch reality TV shows knowing that they represent the "pits" of television broadcasting....nevertheless, such shows attract huge audiences....including people who vote at elections, leading me to understand that in a crisis the electorate will support the celebrity who promises to deliver "the goods."

Why is the media obsessed with stupid little shit that Trump says on Twitter, when there's serious issues that they could be reporting on? Such as the guy in Shitcago who got kidnapped, tortured, and called racial slurs... people seem eerily quiet about that.

The president's actions and words Trump the importance of four random teens.

Heck, don't see you making a fuss about similar incidents where black people are the victims.

This is about Trump.

That's because he doesn't Tweet anything but stupid, nasty, horrible Tweets. He never posts anything nice about anyone. I know. I Googled it and couldn't find a single nice thing to say about anyone or anything.

The thread went that-a-way ------------------->

If anything it demonstrates how hard it is for Trump supporters to follow a simple conversation.

140 characters is stretching it.

I don't think it's the idea that they can't follow it. I think it's more that they can't counter it and try to distract us hoping that we will forget what we were talking about, especially when we do their fact-checking for them. They rarely counter that except to attack and throw insults around.

from listening to trump as a regular guest on Howard Stern for 15 plus years----I feel like I know who he is---plus watching him on local news being in love with the Clintons and his reality show----none of what anyone says about him matters---what does matter is we are about to have a psysco pussy grabber egomaniac billionaire---who is used to doing and thinking whatever pops into his head---as president. He actually believes in very little other than the voices in his head arguing and changing his mind all the time. This will unfold over time---god knows where it will take us.

Wait, isn't Hussein the original tweeting twit? He twatted lots of stuff.

Someone who gives into impulses like a 13-y.o. is not a "successful communicator", he's a juvenile who can't control his own thoughts.

I think you have it pegged.

In a few days Trump takes delivery of the keys to The White House, evidencing his success as a communicator.

Those who were impressed with Trump's "communication skills" may well be the people who are juvenile, having voted for him.

I've heard that Mussolini was constantly changing his mind and members of the government and bureaucracy jockeyed to see him at the end of the day and get decisions at that time when they had a better chance of sticking.
