Trump's Mass Deportation Plans

Pretty obvious eh?

This week, the Dodgers took a stand and the pics of ICE vehicles being escorted away from the gates by LAPD after being refused entry were
heartening. What many didn't realize...and what we have to remember is that TrumpCo. have FOX on all the time...

Just a reminder, in order to pump up its deportation numbers, the administration has recently stripped legal status from more than 1 million immigrants
who entered the country legally, turning them into undocumented immigrants and making them eligible for deportation.

One good sign if the churches start to step the fuck up.

There are report of Texas farms just simply shutting down this week.

Animals left untended. Crops untended.

They're about to hit grape-picking season in Napa. Last year, they were having to pay $20/hour before there weren't enough workers. Most of work is done by seasonal immigrant labor.

Very bad news indeed. The detainee shell game. Although the ruling is only temporary until the case in question can be fully argued later this year, the effect on deportees is sinister.

This is one of the most confounding SCOTUS actions in history. Basically, "Yeah, we'll allow the US government to kidnap people from US soil to a foreign country, while we justices figure out where we put that copy of the US Constitution... it's got to be in a drawer around here somewhere."

The decision is horrifying...and inexplicable.

The intent of the SC to enable authoritarian power is clear.

The detainee shell game.

The Chaos and Cruelty of DVD v. DHS (Lawfare Quinta Jurecic; June 23, 2025)

Editor's note: This piece was published before the Supreme Court granted the government's application to stay a district court order preventing immigrants from being deported to third-party countries on June 23.

By rewarding lawlessness, the [US Supreme] Court once again undermines that foundational [principle that ours is a government of laws, not of men, and that we submit ourselves to rulers only if under rules]. Apparently, the Court finds the idea that thousands will suffer violence in far-flung locales more palatable than the remote possibility that a District Court exceeded its remedial powers when it ordered the Government to provide notice and process to which the plaintiffs are constitutionally and statutorily entitled. That use of discretion is as incomprehensible as it is inexcusable.

JUSTICE SOTOMAYOR, with whom JUSTICE KAGAN and JUSTICE JACKSON join, dissenting.

DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, ET AL. v. D.V.D., ET AL.
ON APPLICATION FOR STAY [June 23, 2025]

ICE Barbie is running a reality show that is failing to achieve the supposed goal of deporting criminals...

The truth is that they have failed to apprehend and deport violent criminals and instead, they've been deporting people who committed non-violent crimes like traffic violations. They've only arrested 752 of 13,099 known violent criminals.

Despite promise to remove 'worst of the worst,' ICE has arrested only 6% of known immigrant murderers
ICE told Congress in September that over 13,000 immigrants known to have committed murder remained at large. Since then, only 752 have been arrested.

The data is a tally of every person booked by ICE during fiscal year 2025 so far, including during the Biden administration, running from Oct. 1 through May 31. It shows a total of 185,042 people arrested and booked into ICE facilities during that time; 65,041 of them have been convicted of crimes. The most common categories of crimes they committed were immigration and traffic offenses...

Last fall, ICE told Congress that 13,099 people convicted of homicide and 15,811 people convicted of sexual assault were on its non-detained docket, meaning it knew who they were but did not have them in custody. A spokesperson said at the time that ICE had some information about but did not know the exact whereabouts of all the immigrants on the non-detained docket and that some could have left the United States or could be in prison.

As usual Trump is lying. It is a wildly imperfect and enabling ruling, demonstrating that for the entire history of the US, the SC has apparently allowed injunctions to stand until this President and this issue. No wonder people are losing the last shreds of faith in this highly over-politicized and corrupt court.

The only comfort I take is that it may be held to equally restrain Trump flacks from being pulled in to issue nation wide injunctions for things they don't like...like restricting Plan B meds, etc.

IT LEAVES THE INJUNCTIONS OF THE BIRTHRIGHT EO IN PLACE, just narrows them to the plaintiffs. And it does not limit nationwide class actions, which will be filed to achieve the identical outcomes. The EO remains unconstitutional.

This is likely another autocratic ploy. It used to be that the Trump cult would believe everything that Trump says but the rest of us, on Earth 1, would say, "That's a lie".

What is different this time around is that there's not a reality check from the media or from other politicians saying, "No, we're not going to do that!". Trump says something on Truth Social or in a speech and there's no pushback. Like a King or a Dictator, his reality is expected to be our reality.

Because of that, it wouldn't surprise me if DHS begins packing up the US-born children of immigrants and the DACA kids and deporting them... because in the Earth 2 where what Trump says is the new reality, it's not unconstitutional to deport American citizens.
