There is a Disney cartoon from the 40's (I believe), based on a children's book, called "Ferdinand the Bull". Ferdinand would rather smell flowers under a
(cork? plane?) tree than fight in the bullring. The Disney animators portrayed Ferdinand as very effeminate, although I doubt there was anything so explicit in the book.
More Disney: there's an over the top drag queen-like fish (?) in "Little Mermaid" that I read was based on a real drag queen, one of John Waters's original players, famous for eating shit on screen. Never wanted to see that happen.
In "Shark Tale" the shark son of the shark mafia don has a Big Secret he's hiding from his family:
he's vegetarian. Very good movie, by the way.

Oddly, Disney did this same joke several years before. In the ABC-Disney show Dinosaurs, an episode revolved around son Robbie fearing he might be (gasp) an "herbo". His friend Dave "comes out" as a vegetarian first. "I always kinda suspected. Every since I was twelve, every time I see vegetables, I feel sorta...hungry." Well-played.

but with that to mention, the tv show dinosaurs had the scariest looking dinosaurs i've seen in my life. robbie kind of looks like lil wayne.
