Halfway to school on Monday, I got a dark vibe from everybody in school. Everyone covered their mouths to the next person to them, and whispered about me, or at least I believed so. Even the teachers gave me weird looks. I felt my stomach sink as I walked through the hallways, with all the locker rooms.
It was now lunch time. I needed to pee, badly. And so I did. I zipped up my pants and a toilet to my left flushed loudly. Some dude came out, it was Danny Striker. "Hey Tanner, I've been looking all over for you."
I looked under the toilet stalls to see if any legs and feet were showing, "I've been thinking about you."
"Hey Tan, did you tell anybody in school about us at the restaurant, or our um,....screwing together?," he sounded furious.
"No, Danny, no I didn't. Why do you think that?," I bashed my eyelids innocently.
"This isn't a joke, Tan. None of the guys will talk to me today, and all the girls seem to think I'm gay or something!," his voice quivered, shaking, in an anxious way.
"Dan Steward, Diego, and Cassie, won't even talk to me anymore. Dude, something happen. Someone saw us. Either that, or you told. There's no other way."
"I swear Danny, I wouldn't do that to you. I don't have anything against you."
"Whoever did this, is going to pay, now everyone thinks I'm a gay!," he punched the towel dispenser. He then laid his head down with both arms, like students usually do in class when they sleep.
"Everything will be fine, calm down," I patted him in the back.
"I'm actually not gay, Tan. I don't even like guys, for some strange reason I had a guy crush on you, and wanted you the first time I met you! None of this make sense."
"That explains why everybody has been weird around me today," I told Danny.
"Listen Tanner, can we not see each other during school for a while, okay? Maybe the rumor will die off if we detach from each other a bit," Striker was now crying.
"What about the weekends?"
"We need a break from each other, man. We've been too close, maybe people will stop talking if we keep a distance. Only for a while, Tan," tears dropped from his eyes like a waterfall, his voice shook as he said all this.
"Sure, sure I'll do it, Dan. I'll do anything for you," I rubbed his back gently.
"I still really like you, but we both got to find out what's going on first. Meet me in this restroom at lunch tomorrow. Walk around and find out what's going on, who did this to us."
"I'll meet you, sure. I'm so sorry, Danny," I hugged him, then rubbed both arms around his firm torso. I messaged his back with both hands, he had such a strong back.
