Every year the gym teacher would talk about how important jock straps were and every year only one or 2 guys would wear them unless you were on a team.

From what I understand they used to actually do "jock checks" and you would get marked off if you were not wearing one - but for some unknown reason the school had said the gym teacher was no longer allowed to look inside the shorts of every guy in the class. Gee - I wonder why they did that... :LOL:

When I was in high school (late 60's & early 70's), about once a week, the coach would require us to snap one of the leg straps of our jocks to prove we were wearing one. You had to pull the strap completely out of the gym shorts you were wearing, so that he could visably see it; and, then let it go where it would snap back against your unprotected thigh. . .OUCH
