Well I was going to install Ubuntu for the third time using WUBI, cause going through the whole live CD ordeal was horrible. And I decided to get Xubuntu this time when I found Ubuntu Studio. Apparently it is a specialized Ubuntu for multimedia people which is very very cool. I of course decided to get that one.

I will get back to you once it is done downloading and I have it up and running.

i'd just rather get the studio. the GUI is a little different, and well looks better than the normal.

seems something didn't configure right when it was installing, i actually installed it on my main drive which i didn't look at before hand. thank god it didn't fuck up Windows.

well it is reinstalling on my second drive and hopefully when it installs, it will configure right. i am hoping the problem was installing on the drive with windows on it. cause i have gotten WUBI twice before with no problems.

didn't work a second time. i guess getting ubuntu studio isnt meant to be. i wonder if the regular ubuntu will even install right. it seems like the GUI or something doesnt install or configure correctly

it gets stuck on Alsa something

*sigh*
well the ubuntu download worked, but the internet isnt.

it says connected to wired connection, then I try to come here or to google and it says it cannot establish connection. i guess this computer doesn't like outside OS's. I will just put it on my old computer. It always worked on that computer, but it is so much weaker.

Dick Sucking Lips? Now that's an OS I can get in front of (or behind)

end hijack

Ok, I presume you're connecting to the internet through a cable modem? through n eth# interface?

has it acquired an IP address? or do you have to specify one? If you connect through a router verify the router is running DHCP.

I guess I'm not completely understanding your problem here.
Yes I have a cable modem, and thats pretty much all I know about it.

I do know that Ubuntu installed or configured DHCP, because I saw it do that three times as I reinstalled Ubuntu three times. lol i know the last two times I gave Ubuntu a run the internet just worked, but that was on my older computer.

funny thing, my older computer also was able to run Ubuntu Studio. Is it because it is running Vista Basic?

Oh I wish that was me. Hell I wish he was with me in my bed, but alas it is a romanian male model.

Andrei Andrei if you want more. And his name is really Andrei Andrei
