Post pictures of guys who, though they may not fall within the realm of mainstream beauty, you consider beautiful, sexy, or alluring in some way. "Ugly" may be too harsh of a term to use, but I think you know what I'm saying. They can be living or dead, a real person or a fictitious character.

In my mind, the king of this genre is:

Yeshua,
Porque no?
Certainment!
I bet some members might be shocked to find themselves posted here for all to oogle!

So... you want ugly guy's pics that others might find attractive (even though they're ugly). Sort of like a way of illustrating the "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" thing, right?

Yeah. With the proviso that "ugly" is a subjective term. I mean, I don't think Adrian Brody is ugly, but the sum of his features don't fall within the range of what is normally considered "handsome" or "symetrical" or whatever. Personally I would drink his bathwater.

This might make for an interesting thread.

*searches for pics of ugly guys that he finds attractive*

Can they be jubbers? :-< :jk:

I hope so! And yes, they could be jubbers, though I can imagine people might be hurt by the association, explanation notwithstanding, so I wouldn't suggest it unless you ask them first.

I don't think some jubbers would like to be featured in this thread, so I'll abstain, and look for guys on the net.

Good idea.

Actually, this is harder that it looks.

*wonders if he can post his own pic*

Yeah, I guess it is. Have you ever had a crush on a cartoon character, like nerdy me? That might be a place to look.

And yes, you can post your own pic.

Kinda Basset Houndishly cute eyes, and oh, the promise of that straight, Roman nose!

I don't consider him ugly by any stretch, either.

I've never been attracted to "pretty boys". I think Adrien Brody is sexy.

Oops! I spelled his name incorrectly. Laziness. One of my poorer qualities.

Mick Jagger the epitome.

Excellent example!

[QUOTE="thatgirl, post: 0"]I think "not conventionally attractive" is a better way of describing it.

I think the best example for me = Daniel Craig.

His sex appeal confuses me. But I'd hit it repeatedly.

Yup, that was the phrase I ought to have used. I think I considered it, but thought people might quibble with what comprises "conventional". Or I was being lazy again. Probably both.

And again, good example! I don't know that I'd have ever put Daniel Craig in that category, but looking over his features, he does belong!

Oooh, yes, all of the above. Adrien Brody has this one nude-ish scene in The Affair of the Necklace, where he leaps out of a bathtub and he's soooooo thin but muscular and oy! And Daniel Craig makes me melt, I never noticed before he was posted here how funny-looking his nose is. And Alan Rickman's voice, especially when it's being all condescending and sinuous, tickles me in the dark places.

But someone who I have always found strangely beautiful, not really sexy so much as aesthetically fascinating, is John Hurt. Even now that he's old, there's something about his bone-structure and the way he holds himself that's just incredibly attractive.

Darkflower,
I have to admit that The Bad Boy of Rock and Roll came to my mind - along w/ Sly Stallone and "The Graduate Tootsie" Dustin Hoffman.

They both have that sad eye thing going on.

Agreed that Dustin is an appealing, sexy man, but I can't see it as much in Sly these days because he's had too much plastic surgery. I definitely would have jostled Dustin's bones circa Meet The Fockers.

In their heyday I don't know that anyone would have considered either of them odd looking or anything. They were both actually quite classically beautiful then, in my opinion. You don't think so? Or were you just talking about now?

Yes, I see what you mean with him. I feel as if I should recognize him, but I don't. Who is that? Is he in the Harry Potter movies?

OH yes. I know just the scene you mean.

I love that phrase, "aesthetically fascinating". And that's a good way to describe him, yes.

How about DJ Qualls? It's more apparent for me when he's moving and talking. I find his pipecleaner-man body, his elfish features, the way he talks, and his self-depricating humor very sexy. Skip to about 1 minute in:

Darkflower,
If you look closely at the name of the link for Lilbits pic - SNAPE.jpg -- YES, he is Alan Rickman, aka Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films, as well as others.
(the robot in Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, too.)

p.s. I was thinking of Sly in his prime, not now.
I don't know that I thought of him as classically handsome ever.

Ah yes! I saw that, but I didn't know what it meant. I've neither read nor seen any of the Harry Potter.

p.s. I was thinking of Sly in his prime, not now.

Really? Interesting! I always thought he looked remarkably like the faces on many a Grecian or Renaissance Italian statue when he was a young man. Then again, the effects of the brain damage he suffered when he was a child (one side of his face was slightly droopy) was more evident then, too, so that lent a bit more interest for me.

Totally agree with you on Adrien Brody, Darkflower. :D

He's dreamy to me.

Dreamy. That's a good word for him. :-)

Adrien's hotness was unquestionable for me after I saw him in Summer of Sam. The fake Cockney/Brooklyn accent he dons, him stripping at that seedy gay club, a quick shot of him at the beginning-practically naked in all of his morning glory. *|* :luv: If you're an admirer of Adrien Brody, I highly recommend you checking out S.O.S.. He's just fine as all fuck in that movie, even at the end when he's damn near getting his brains kicked in, I'm still in a flutter. !oops!

You guys know just which Adrien scenes I like!

Have you seen The Jacket? Another creepy movie, but he's so damn sexy in it!

And this is another one I can't tear my eyes away from marveling at how insanely sexy he looks:

*sighs dreamily* Oh Aubrey....:luv:

That's a beautiful man right there. You don't think he'd be considered conventionally attractive?

Okay, here's one:

What's that "nerdy" guy's name who was on Providence - and played a role like he did everything "dog-like" - then he had his own series after that..
kinda nerdy - pretty sexy tho !! i thought

An absolutely excellent idea for a thread. I've actually thought about it while looking at pictures of Daniel Craig. I can't come up with anyone else, but I'm sure there must be someone that I'm forgetting.
