Ugly Betty starts this week!!!!!

Marc: The poor cow has no idea we only invited her so people could see she really exists. She's like a real-life Snuffleupagus -- only hairier.

I completely agree. Last weeks episode was fucking brilliant. I liked how they showed a different side of Amanda. She's quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. And I love the effect Wilhelmina has on Marc. She's fabulous.

Anyway, I love the show, and I can't for this weeks episode, and eventually the DVDs, and hopefully a soundtrack.
 
I watched tonight's episode, and I've changed my opinion on the show. I think during the first couple of episodes, "Ugly Betty" was trying to find its groove, but I think they've found it. They're developing all of the characters, in a comedic and dramatic way. For instance, before I thought that Daniel Meade was just whining about his childhood and favoritism, and I thought to myself, "why should I even care?" But now that they introduced his mother (Judith Light, she can play a mean role, I love it! :D ), and I actually understand things now. I feel sympathy. I think they call that pathos. And I genuinely felt bad for Amanda the secretary; she has some acting skill because at the beginning of the season, I thought she was a one-dimensional "bitch" character, but she's so not. I just thought I'd write that since I sort of trashed "Ugly Betty" not long ago. ;) If you care, thanks.
 
I didn't catch tonights episode. I keep refreshing TorrentSpy every five seconds in hopes that someone has posted the torrent.

Anyway, Betty will end up with Daniel Meade. She will. It was like that in the original, and it will be like that in this one. If it's not, I'll have a nervous breakdown. I can't stand to even look at that freak, Walter. How dare he cheat on poor little Betty?!?!

Yes, but I'd have to sit through the commercials. I'll just download it via bittorrent, HD, and commercial free!! I'm a poet and I don't even know it. ^_^;
 
I'm starting to fear Lucy Davis (the female Fashion Channel host) and Selma Hayek's cameos are going to be lost in the shuffle! This is the second week in a row where both of them did not appear!

Darn it. I liked seeing those two making a little cameo. At least I've still got Ashley Jensen... am very afraid they would minimize her role.
 
I finished the episode a few minutes ago...

Wilhelmina Slater shot up to my #1 favorite character!! I LOVE her!! Vanessa Williams is brilliant.

Anyway, I really loved how the showed yet another side of Amanda, and I was hoping Betty would have said a little more to Daniel at the end. You know, about him being a huge slut. But anyway, it's episode five and I don't see the sparks between Daniel and Betty...I'm starting to wonder. Then again, in the original telenovela it did take a while for Armando Mendoza (That would be Daniel in the new series) to look at Betty in that way. But then again, the telenovela aired everyday of the week....What is going on?!


Can't wait for next weeks episode!!

yes, but keep in mind, QAF was a carbon copy of the british version for many episodes and then went in its on direction. perhaps UB the US version may go off on a different version as well.

No, no, no!! That can't happen! It'll ruin the whole theme of the show! "Average looking girl works for hot boss, average looking girl gets makeover, hot boss falls for [now] hot looking girl, hot looking girl and hot boss get married and live happily ever after!!!! YAY!!!" But who knows...I'll still watch.
 
This show has the best one-liners, doesn't it???? LOL

Last week's episode when Whillemina's assistant was showing her pictures of prospective dates for the Halloween ball (all of them were super old):

"This guy????? I'm pretty sure he's on our money!!" LOL
 
I'm surprised there are not listed on IMDB under memorable quotes. Eric Mabius, although not my type, sure exudes sexuality. He has a nice body, but he looks sexier in suits.

I agree... but he just doesn't play the entire playboy thing well. He actually makes it seem like it's a torture sleeping with all those women. But yes, he's a cutie.

Salma's performance was incredible!! I loved every minute of it. Finally, someone to put him in his place. That cunt...breaking my dear Amanda's heart.
 
My bf and I love this show....where else can we get a telenovela within a dramedy...the acting is what makes this show great, with lesser acting it would just be campy mess. My favorite characters are the supporting ones....hope it lasts for a long time....
