Ugly Betty starts this week!!!!!

This show has gotten way too serious. The Thanksgiving episode was good as a drama, but it didn't make me laugh, even once. They need to make this show funny again!
It's a soap opera, so there has to be emotional beats in the storyline in order for it to progress.

I think the Thanksgiving episode was well balanced.

I loved the episode! The scenes with marc and amanda were hilarious!

I also like how daniel got a taste of his own medicine :-)

I agree with most that Daniel is a bit of a jerk, but he is so f#@king hot
I am looking forward to next week, the previews show Betty and Daniel ending up in a very interesting situation. I mean, can you imagine having Daniel in that drunken condition, dragging him home, taking his clothes off and putting him to bed. What a *|* fantasy. If ever this show needed to be on Showtime or some cable network, imagine the possibilities.
I loved watching Daniel checking out his competition in the men's room, I just know straight guys actually do stuff like that.

This is my favorite new show. It's such a good mix of biting one-liners, satire and a little bit of drama to pull at the heartstrings. Basically, a good way to almost end the week.

While I love Salma Hayek, I don't really like the relationship shs's got with Daniel. The whole thing just seems a little unbelievable to me. In the span of a few episodes, she's turned from this, incredibly confident, strong, proud maneater, into almost just another "did he call?" giggly girl enamored with Daniel. Granted, she's a bit tougher than most, but it just feels like they've shown very little as far as a relationship progressing. She went basically from hating him, to sleeping with him, and then suddenly, boom, she's in love with him and willing to leave her fiance for him even though he really has shown very little change of personality.

Santos was cute, and I really like the way that they're handling the whole Justin situation, waiting some time to address it and then I feel the way in which they did so was very true to life. I actually find Ignacio to be really sexy as well. Same with Hilda, and yes I even have a crush on Betty herself. Something about her voice just strikes a chord with me (I have a very strong aural sense).

Walter doesn't bug me as much as some people, but I'd prefer to see her with Henry. We may get our wish this coming week. I have to say that I really hope this show doesn't go the formulaic route of having Daniel and Betty wind up with each other in the end.

Wow, Betty helped Daniel up to bed, took off his clothes and left him there while she slept on the couch. I know that fits right into Betty's wonderful character and would expect nothing less from her. However, that is so NOT what I would have done:badgrin:
I mean come on, Daniel (Eric Maibus) out cold and almost naked in my bed?
imagine the possibilities:sex: *|*

i'd second that! :)

but who is the cute gay guy with the slight faux-hawk look? i forgot his name on the show. did anybody catch his bulge on the thanksgiving episode. i think he was wearing tweed and the camera focused on him talking to his female friend. i was surprised he sported one. very eye candy.

LOVE this show and glad to see that there is a thread for it :)

Two thoughts, perhaps already addressed - so forgive the repeats:

(1) Is it just me or does anyone else envision Marc being a cousin of Queer as Folk's Emmett Honeycut :rotflmao: ??

(2) Justin's obvious feminine demeanor. I had a discussion about this with my friend the other day. When we were growing up, if we had shown the slightest inkling of such femininity we would have been smacked into next week (that would be a Puerto Rican perspective). Being that the Suarez family is Mexican I would have assumed the same would happen, but it looks like there is a passive acceptance - which I very much admire! Even the mom admitted proudly that she takes him to fabric stores! You go guuuurl! :gogirl:

That's how it was in the original! Shut up!
Hehe. Whoops. I never saw the original, although I do remember seeing little previews for it when clicking through the channels and stopping on one of the Spanish-language stations and just thinking it was such an odd name for a show. I never bothered to watch an episode though.

I just see Betty and Daniel as having a good yin/yang platonic sibling-like sort of relationship and don't think they go together too well. Maybe my mind will change as the series progresses.

Argh! Come on Betty! Dump Walter! You can see she's digging Henry (who is just too damn cute for words...). ;)

And the ending was rather sad, the two of them just sitting there in the living room with the camera pulling back.

I think that Betty will come to her senses. After her kiss with Walter, she didn't feel anything.

It should be interesting to see Betty in her new job at the other magazine with Sofia.

I love this show. I cant wait until Henry gets a regular role!
