Ugly Betty

I didn't watch it. And I forgot to Tivo it!!! I need to try to catch it before...Thursday.

I know as a kid who lost his aunt, I kinda bounced back a day or so after the funeral. During the funeral I was a wreck, but before and after I was able to lock the sadness away. He may have the same ability. It's a coping mechanism of sorts.

I think they try to throw the audiences off by not allowing Justin and Betty to show any emotion. Didn't Bette and Justin say something about Hilda being in the room with Santos something along that line and then Bam !! just like the sixth sense. They could have had the story take place three months after or something.

The ending was so breathtaking and incredibly sad. I didn't want him to die but I really like how the writers showed Hilda dealing with it (or not dealing with it)

Actually, Justin isn't gay. In a surprise twist befitting Ugly Betty, they're gonna make Justin straight and will even have a girlfriend later in the series.

Which I think is great cause it dispells so many stereotypes.

Source?

Ugly Betty is my favorite show on tv! I was so hurt when they played us like that and had Santos really be dead at the end. It's such a good show though. The only show with a Hispanic lead now that George Lopez was canceled.

Yeah, there's that point too. Betty and Justin didn't mention Santos at all, mind you. Betty did ask if Hilda was coming down for dinner, and Justin told her that she won't come down. They did pull it off well, because they make you think that Hilda refuses to leave Santos alone, because she's scared of him hurting himself.

As for the Justin not being gay. Didn't he take a pride flag to school? I can't remember exactly, I just remember that it was the episode that he got in a fight with the bully.

He got in a fight with the bully when the kid called Hilda a slut or something like that.

Good season opener. They really had me fooled. The ending was tugging at the heart strings.

First episode of the new Season is on tonight, over here. ..|

i don't think theyre making justin straight. in the recent episode it's pretty clear that justin is gonna start acting more "straight" to be more like santos. if you notice when hilda tells him to choose something to keep he takes the basketball. he's prolly gonna try to shake his interest in fashion to be more like his dad, and start doing "manly" activities.

Highly possible. The clerk at the food mart did say he is a lot like his dad, but Justin said that he wasn't. He probably wants to fill in his shoes, both for Hilda and himself. I just hope he doesn't get the idea that he needs to throw his passions away to please what he thinks his dad truly wanted from him in the long run. He is only like 11, and doesn't truly comprehend how much his dad was happy with who he was. Yeah, he probably would be happier if he were less flamboyant, for his own protection, but it was obvious Santos loved Justin for who he is. Such a tragic thing, and it's hitting Justin hard now..

Given how TV plotting works, I'm expecting Justin will try to become more "straight acting." Then there will be some crisis about his behavior, and he'll learn to just accept himself as he is, as the best way to honor his late father.

justin is not going to be straight

he has a mentor now

marc

good episode btw

I agree, I love the bond they have have made.

If only Marc wasn't such a douche. I love him for his wickedness, but come on. Using Justin to push Willi and his agenda? That is a bit too far. Especially considering the two have a bond, and he knew about his relationship with his father.

I think Marc was just being himself. Considering he treated everybody else, Justin got special treatment from him. I hope they become good friends.

I think Marc has proven time and time again that his career takes prescedent above all else. Frankly, I would have been disappointed in him if he didn't exploit Justin.

Thursday nite is ABC nite for me. I really like the second episode, especially at the end. Where the store clerk tells Justin how he's like his father, and Justin replies that he isn't.

BTW if you missed an episode you can usually check abc.com the next day and they have the full episodes.

I think originally Marc was going to just use Justin, but then he sorta took to the kid. I am thinking Marc won't be using Justin anymore.
I sure hope not anyways
