Ultimate Fighting Championship

Apparently Silva feels as if he's not being given any serious competition, so he shouldn't have to actually put in effort to have a good fight:rolleyes:

Wasn't terribly impressed with this weeks fight, but I'm glad muh boy's still around. Still impressed with how subdued Tito's been.

Yager sooooo reminded me of one of my asshole cousins, who once called me out on how I was standing. "Man...get your foot off your other foot, you look gay as hell"...fucking moron.

^I actually liked this weeks' fight... i mean, their standup game leaves something to be desired, but Tavares is pretty damn great at not being caught on the takedowns. On the 3rd round, either could have won it.

I missed the first 15 minutes, so i missed the whole Yager spat... but seems like he's trying to be a lesser Browning.

You know, you'd think I'd embrace the grappling aspect of the fights--seeing hot guys, rolling around all sweaty and whatnot;), but the fight just didn't really hold my attention.

Can't WAIT for Yager to catch a good beating...and it is gonna happen. It has to:grrr:

And that's when you say, "I AM gay as hell. And what, muthafucka?" Or at least that's how my fantasy goes.

Anyway, I'm thrilled that Dana White has said that if Anderson Silva pulls that shit again, he'll be cut from the UFC. I hope he follows through, should that occur.

Lol, these days I could see myself replying that way, but that happened years ago, before I could even accept who I was.

Watched that video interview with Dana. Would be nice if he actually did follow trough with the thread, should another incident occur, but I wouldn't put money on it. Dana tends to talk out of his ass sometimes...

Heh. Understood.

Yeah, Dana goes where the money goes, more often than not. As long as Anderson's name still draws ticket sales, he'll keep him. Hopefully though, the MMA nation will not pay to see him because of that crap. People get pissed when they spend 50 bucks (or hundreds, if they're in the arena) to see something and feel like they got fleeced.

Definitely agreed on the DQ, but I'd have like to see Kyacey knocked out, rather than dq'ed...he needs a good humbling. He caught a DQ, for a couple of illegal knees. I almost feel bad for taking such delight in seeing K get dumped on his head early on.

Yager lit his dude up pretty good, I'm still not as impressed with him, as he is in himself. I think the dude he fought(can't remember him) kinda just choked, and didn't bring his A game. Once he caught that last shot, he just packed it in.

Is Nick Ring gay? everyone i know seems to think he is.. and if i had a better gaydar, i`m sure i could tell too.

He`s hot as hell too. :p

Been wondering the same thing. He's a hot one, for sure!!! He's not even my usual type, but I was really digging the hell outta him with this last ep. Even so though, I think I gotta call bullshit on that decision. Glad it went in Nick's favor, but I think McGee(one night, just one night...) should've took it.

Chuck had me kinda wet this week's ep. I bet he throws a mean fuck..|

YEEEAAAAH!!!

In yesterday's UFC 113, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua proved during his rematch with Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida that he was robbed when the two last fought at UFC 104, with a first round knockout! Shogun is now the light heavyweight champion of the world!

Don't get me wrong, I like Lyoto. He's a great fighter with a unique style. But I hate it when decisions are so clearly wrong, as was the one in their match at 104. If you lost, you lost, no matter how popular you are. Also, Shogun has been through hell getting his body and career back together after so many challenges in his personal life, and I always like to see the underdog win.

Josh Koscheck also won, but it was a boring fight, but the antics afterwards were pretty exciting. Next up for Josh is GSP, and Josh is gonna get his ass whooped. I hope. Josh is in my brother's group, so I should by rights vote for him to win, but he's a poor sport and seems like an ass on a personal level, and I just can't root for him.

Sam Stout lost, which made me . Kimbo lost, which made me :D and Patrick Cote lost, which made me . Y'all can read about those matches on yahoo or ******* or wherever, but I'll say that in general, it was worth the price of (PPV) admission.

I'm not even a fan of the guy, but I can't help but feel a lil' bad for Kimbo. He's gettin' dogged HARD over another disappointing performance. Also can't help but chuckle at the big-talking fools who know damn well that they'd shit themselves in face-to-face confrontation with the guy, but bag on him as a "weak fighter". I DO agree with the sentiment that Kimbo Slice is a bit overrated. Still though, overrated or not, I'm not gonna kid myself about how I'd fare against him.

I'm with you on Kosheck. I live for seeing that kid catch a beating. Here's hoping for a SEVERE mangling at the hands of GSP..|

Now I'm kinda wishing I DID just go ahead and get the PPV. Psyched that Shogun's got the belt.

I think I'm gonna HAVE to bite the bullet for the Jackson/Evans fight(!)(!)(!)

Too bad Daley let Josh get in his head...now he's out of a job[-X

Didn't see last night's fight so don't know the details, but I read about Josh needing a timeout after an eye injury--which the replay calls into question. Didn't that same shit happen in one of his fights not too long ago? Actually I think I might have commented about it in this thread, awhile back. Either way, I'm still looking forward to him getting handled.

I know Daley fucked up, but I can't help but question the sincerity of Dana's "He will never fight in the UFC again" statement. We all know damn well, that if the price is right.....

Oh and, SHOCKER....Kimbo's been released from UFC.

I didn't mean to indicate that I bear any particular animus against Kimbo by saying I was :D that he lost (not that you were saying I did). It's just that, well, he's a street fighter. He's not an MMA guy. I think that's probably what those who called him a "weak fighter" were getting at.

So much of what these MMA fighters have to have is, yes, skill in a particular discipline (and I suppose street fighting can be a discipline--I don't know enough about it to really say), but more than anything, superior conditioning. That's Kimbo's problem. When he got signed to the UFC, he was still smoking both cigarettes and weed. It's gonna take some time before he can even come close to the level that the other athletes bring to the table in that regard.

Plus, he doesn't have a deep enough toolbox. I mean, if he can't knock someone out immediately, he doesn't have anything to counter what comes next, it seems.

In my opinion, he might be the baddest backyard fighter on the block, but he's not an MMA athlete. He's just not. I shake his hand, bid him farewell, and hope he at least made himself a little piece of change from his stint in the UFC. And the UFC isn't the only game in town. He'll probably get picked up by one of the other organizations, especially if he continues to improve. I mean, he's already 36 years old, but stranger things have happened.

I think I'm gonna HAVE to bite the bullet for the Jackson/Evans fight(!)(!)(!)

Oh hell yes. When's that coming up again? I'm psyched to see Brock Lesnar defend his title against Shane Carwin in July (supposedly). Even if that's the only good fight on the ticket, I'm getting a few friends together and watching that one. Should be one for the ages. I still can't get over how quickly and brutally Shane destroyed Frank Mir.

Too bad Daley let Josh get in his head...now he's out of a job.

Man, Dana, fine the guy, but don't freaking kick him out! It was high spirits, that's all. I mean, he was trying to be a good sport, and Josh acted like an ass about it. That's enough to send a guy over the edge who's already feeling crestfallen in defeat. He ought to understand that. I hope you're right that after tempers cool, he'll retract that threat.

Evans/Jackson airs May 29th. Sucks that Forrest had to bow out of his match with Noguiera.

Btw, I'm with you on Kimbo. Not a fan, but I've nothing against the guy. I just think he bit off more than he could chew. Still gotta have SOME respect for the guy for atleast putting up the effort to be more than an "internet sensation"...and that comments directed at the chumps clowning him on yahoo.

Would ya'll have rather seen Liddell/Ortiz or Liddell/Franklin. Tito's definitely earned alot of respect from me this season, so I'm not QUITE as anxious to see Chuck mangle him. With that said, Liddell/Franklin could be pretty sweet, just not sure who I'll be rooting for yet. Same with Evans and Jackson. Always liked Rampage, but I've really gained an appreciation for Evans over the last couple of years. Whoever I end up rooting for though, I think Evans has Jackson's number.

Watching an awesome fight right now between Leonard Garcia & Chin Jung Sun(sp)...Garcia's cool to watch, but I think he gets himself in alot of trouble with all the blind swinging he does. These boys are fucking throwin' DOWN right now though.

Where? Where? WHERE?!??!?!?!?!

DVR'ed "Ultimate Fights of 2010" last night. Why they'd have one this early, I dunno...

That Garcia fight though....DAMN!!! Joe's calling it a good contender for fight of the decade, and I really can't disagree. Not sure I agree with the fight's outcome though, but I gotta give it to both 'em of for even being able stand up after going at each other like that.

Another wasted $45](*,)](*,)](*,)

Actually, aside from the main event, the fights weren't all THAT bad. Sweet debut for John Hathaway. Todd Duffee(how hot is that guy?) had a decent fight. He's pretty fucking speedy for his size. Bisping put on an entertaining fight, as usual, but I still hate that sexy bastard. Lol.

I was right on with the results of Evans/Jackson, but I thought the fight would've went alot differently. Really expected Rashad to overwhelm him with his speed, and pummel the fuck outta him. Jackson blew it BIG TIME in the 3rd round. If he'd kept on him while he was OBVIOUSLY rocked, Rashad would've been fucked!!!

All in all, not the WORST PPV, but still wish I hadn't have spent the money:cry:

All in all, not the WORST PPV, but still wish I hadn't have spent the money:cry:

Agreed. I should have waited for the DVD.

After finally watching the fights, i have this to say about each one:

- Diego getting handled like that from Hathaway was as awe inspiring as it was sad to see. You could see at some point that Sanchez realized that there was really nothing he could do to the man. Sick way to start the show.

Agreed. I'd never even heard of Hathaway before! It seemed like it was a night for up-and comers and dumb luck. Good for the sport.

- Jason Milz got robbed. Lil Nog did not deserve that win, he was being whooped on for the first 2 rounds and it's clear to me that OK should have had that win. Left me ANNOYED.

Agreed. I felt bad for Little Nog for the booing (hope he didn't take it personally--he seems like a nice guy)--but he lost, bigtime. Worse of an injustice than the first Machida/Rua matchup. That got straightened out though. Hopefully Milz will get another chance, and I really respected his attitude. He was honored to have been given the shot, it seemed, and clearly we'll see more of him. Hope his performance wasn't a fluke.

- Todd Duffee... man, what a disappointing matchup that was. As soon as he got hurt, the match became a snoozer, with no one doing ANYTHING til the third round. That KO was merciful. He may be built like a genetic freak, but he sure can't handle an owwie too well.

That was a weird match.

- Waylon got his sexy ass handed to him. Melvin put on that knee, and crushed him.

Agreed.

- Bisping and Miller was the best fight of the night, in my opinion. Hate for Bisping aside, he pulled this one out in a fight that really, REALLY could have gone either way. Yeah, i was rooting for Miller, but i'm sure he'll pull it together next time.

I really expected Miller to do better. Perhaps to win, but at least to put it to Bisping harder than he did.

- The main event was incredibly disappointing, which only makes Rampage's homophobic comments all the more of a nail in the coffin. But it seemed like while Rashad was making him play his game, he himself couldn't do THAT much with it until the third round - that's the most i've seen a ref break the hold. Still, Rashad's vicious speed won that match up...

What did Rampage say? I haven't been paying attention.

It turned out the way I expected it to, but it was a lot more boring than I thought it would be. I hoped it would be a slugfest war, after all that shit talk. I kind of suspected the outcome, as soon as I heard that Rampage came into camp at 250 pounds. That told me he wasn't in the mindset he'd need to be to beat Rashad.

I was surprised at all the booing Rashad got! What was that all about?

Yeah, i wouldn't have wanted to pay for this ppv... but i'm thinking(if i'm off!) that i'll pay for 115!

The next one I'll probably buy is the Shane Carwin/Brock Lessnar.
