Well, i kinda over hyped it after seeing the pics and a short clip a few days ago, so when i first saw it i was expecting more with the Umbrellas and just more really.

I was like, they shoulda done this or shoulda done that, why didn't they do this; but after watching it again and again and again and again (*23) this is a really hot and good video.

I really hate that Rihanna got naked for the video my jaw dropped at 2:28. That was NOT necessary, she is only 19 and she is the new covergirl, so she should cover up lol. I am not saying it isn't sexy, because it sure as hell is but i did not like it.

That naked dance scene also reminded me of the TOXIC video where Britney is "naked" covered in diamonds.

The choreography is HOT.

I have watched the video over 30 times now times now and i have 2/3 of the choreography nailed down.

I have to learn the rest because my friends and i are going to recreate the video on Saturday, minus the special effects of course. Instead we are going to use a sprinkler system.

I love the umbrella dance after the bridge.

I also like the first "because" transition where the glass breaks and the water starts pouring in and the semi matrix moves, hot, hot, hot.

Like i said it could and i was expecting something more epic but its really awesome and worth the wait.

Looking forward to seeing it on TV. She'll probably debut it on TRL and then 106 & park next week.

The song is HOT...

BUT....

I LOVE the part of the video where she sings the first verse.....then I lose interest after that

I thought the video woulda been better. I will say the dancing is hot. But that water near the begining coming off her is so fake and I hate when things look like that. I dont know I like when theres a story behind the video. Like she coulda had her and a guy going through bad situations or him going through bad things and her being there for him with her "umbrella" and helping him. I think the part wheres she naked and all silver was pretty but it has nothing to do with the video or song. It was kinda pointless to me. I was hoping this would beat out S.O.S as my new fave video by her but it didnt.

But still LOVE the song and cant wait for the album!!!!
 
For the most part... Love the song, video is there( take it for what it is...)
but for the most part I'm with getoverit... there could have been a storyline, but Ma girl Mariah beat her to that with her "Through The Rain" video and the label probably did not want that comparison...IMO I mean

Oh god. This video isnt that good. It had potential to be a great video but they were not creative enough. The dancing doesnt fit with the music at all and sometimes it looks cheesy along with the special effects. Her covered in silver wasnt needed either. It was good up til her dancing with the white dress and water.
 
This is the first song by Rihanna I can say that I like a lot.
 
I have to disagree with a few of you about the nude-silver scene....I thought it was hot! She looks so stunning in the video and overall I loved it. I love the rock-ish feel to the song and I think the video for the most part complemented the song very well. I'm officially a big fan of this girl. ..|
 
Ok i am editing the Umbrella Music Video my friends and i made and i am thinking of putting it on youtube. The choreography after the bridge is so hot, that was fun to reenact.

On a side note, is UMBRELLA gay? or is it unisex?

I ask because, Umbrella is my ringtone, and my phone rang yesterday and a girl asked me if i was gay. Another time i was singing the chorus and some men were giving me weird looks. One of the men were hot so he could stand under my umbrella any time.

But seriously? is Umbrella a girls song or is it for everyone?

What you guys think? Do you sing Umbrella loud and proud and not give a darn what anyone thinks or do you secretly enjoy its awesomeness but don't let on that you love it?
 
It's not a gay song. But it's one of those songs that no straight guy is going to publicly express liking. At least not in an overt way, like singing it out loud, lol.

Yes you are probably right.

Well i don't care, i like Rihanna, and on June 5th i am going to walk into the record store with my head high, no sunglasses, no wig, and get a copy of "Good Girl Gone Bad" and care less about what anyone wants to think.

I have a "straight" friend that likes Britney, but he said he would never be caught buying her CD, so he asks me to get him a copy.
