This has to be bad news for your job security! I feel really sorry for the guy but --- really, how stupid is this?

(Sept. 12) -- More than 400 students from Norwin High School in western Pennsylvania got an unexpected eyeful Friday, when a big screen presentation on the importance of donating blood suddenly turned into an X-rated slideshow.

The hardcore images -- described by students as gay pornography, according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette -- were stored on a portable flash drive owned by a Central Blood Bank employee. That USB stick also contained the safe-for-all-ages PowerPoint presentation. But unfortunately, the Gazette noted, when Assistant Principal Tim Kotch plugged the drive into a computer, he unwittingly clicked on the wrong file, causing several explicit photos to appear on the school's giant TV screen.

Could he get in trouble if any of them were minors and I assume most were? Just imagine the humiliation.

Never store porn on the same jump drive as your other documents, especially if plan to share the jump drive with other people. In fact, I would argue to not place porn on any computer system or other location that other people can access, especially at a worksite. Ugh. #-o

I love how the story makes it seem like the students really didn't care and just thought it was funny but several parents immediately thought "LAWSUIT!" Yes, it was a HUGE mistake and very inappropriate, but if anyone honestly thinks they need to take legal action, the rod up their ass must have a rod up its ass. Get over it. No one was damaged by seeing some pictures of naked men.

The story is funny. :)

I would say investigate those "several parents" private lives and see how clean they are.

well, he just does the school a favor, by showing the students what they have been missing in Sex Ed :P.

lol. That would suck. I'd never for one put porn on a jump drive or let alone a something I was going to be using for a project.

"Oh HAI everyone this is my presentation on our green planet. And if you look at the nex- OH MY GOD A PENIS!"

:O

I bet some students were jerking to some of those pics. LOL

Oh people will definitely sue over it. Chaps my ass that the parents can even sue and collect damages when they weren't even there to experience said "damages". 'cause I'm assuming most of them aren't writing their kid a cheque for the awardment.

Wow, that sucks.

Why do I get the odd feeling they are going to make a big deal about this and blame the gay community for this mans fuck up?

Embarrassing. #-o

All I can say is that the blood bank (and school) better start rounding up their attorneys.

unless the "victims" LOL can prove they suffer damages ...
they will get ZERO dollar and may have to pay court costs.

A total FKing OOOPPPS !!!
The guy needs to learn ... one jump drive for work ... one drive for fun.
I'm with the thought that the parents are jumping on the "SUE THE SICKO" bandwagon is wrong and they won't share the rewards but use the money to revamp their own toychests.
Great that the students shown were so cool with it and knew the presenter was completely embarrassed. But they didn't show any Mary-Sue Prude who ran out of the room screaming that her quarterback boyfriend wasn't as big as those the pictures.

This actually happened to a guy in my office, during an academic presentation of his PhD work to the entire department.

This is becoming a clichee, isn't it? Just a week ago in Perth, Western Australia, a new priest from Melbourne at the Anglican Perth College girls school lost his thumbdrive. It was found, although nobody knew who it belonged to, and 'thumb-tacked' to the school office notice board for somebody to recognize and claim. When nobody claimed it, after a week or two, another staffer opened it to see if there might have been some indication that the drive belonged to somebody in particular. There was and he was arrested very shortly after for having what was described as "apparently child pornography" saved.

The kids at this American school didn't seem too distressed, although I can predict a "Crucible" experience...
