There's absolutely no problem, legal or otherwise, with you being 21 and having a relationship with someone who's 17. Just wait until he's 18 to have sex. You can still hug, kiss, make out, whatever, just don't touch his dick until he's 18 and you've got no worries. Otherwise, go have fun with him.
 
If you are only 21, I see nothing wrong with you seeing or dating an 18 year old. However, I do think that a relationship with a man 20 years older than you might raise some problems and issues. Was it the age difference that broke you guys up?


Nah, it was more his own self-esteem problems. Although I think they might have had to do with his age... but obviously not all 40-somethings have such severe confidence issues, so I don't think it really had to do with age. It was more of a jealousy problem I guess.
