Unable to clear my bowel completedly

Re: Chronic constipation

My appointment with the colorectal specialist is on 20th September.

I don't want to wait that long as I am afraid my condition will get worse ( passing hard stool, pain during bowel movements, blood coming out).

Should I try to bring forward my appointment or wait until September 20th?

Re: Chronic constipation

If possible you should try to make the appointment earlier. I don't know if that is possible or not. Depending on circumstances it might be possible to go to an urgent care or even an emergency room, but I am not certain about this and would like someone else to comment. I am not a medical specialist and I don't know what the medical care is where you live.

Re: Chronic constipation

In the mean time, try to eat fruits that have lots of fiber (papaya, oranges, grapefruit, mandarin). They will help with bowel movement. You can take fiber supplement. I think real fruits are better.

Re: Chronic constipation

So today, I have a much easier bowel movement in the morning.

I drank two glasses of water before I sleep at night.

I drank a glass of water around 6am in the morning.

But I have to wake up a few times just to pee.

After breakfast, I did some pelvic floor exercise and breathing exercise.

Then I have some urge to poop.

When I sit on the toilet bowl to poop, I still need to push a bit more but not so much pushing and straining compared to the day before.

The stool comes out quite easily. There is still some pain and some blood, but there is much lesser pain and blood compared to my bowel movement yesterday.

When all the stool comes out, I feel that there is still some leftover stool stuck near, halfway in my rectum.

So I quickly wash and clean my anus with water, and sit on the toilet bowl to try to force and push the remaining, leftover stool out.

But no matter how hard I try to push, the leftover stool will not come out of my rectum.

In the end, I just give up.

If you have left-over stool stuck in your rectum, should you try to push out the remaining stool out of your rectum?

Re: Chronic constipation

Hi Travis,

May I know what your anal sex history is? I don't have advice on that, I'm just wondering.
What I heard is: "don't try to push too hard" so I would leave like it is till your next docs appointment.

Hi Thomas,

I have never had anal sex before.

I have never had sex with anybody.

Thanks for your reply.

Re: Chronic constipation

Hi,

just want to say the bleeding has stopped.

I have been taking Euvein 500 ( Diosmin 450 mg, Hesperidin 50mg ) daily.

I have normal, soft stool now.

But I still need to push the stool to get it to start coming out of my anus daily. I also do some breathing and pelvic floor exercise so that I have some urge to clear my bowel.

I have difficulty defecating and it is affecting my life

Hi.

I am suffering from constipation.

Previously, I don't seem to have the urge to poop every day.

I just pass out gas a lot, but the poop doesn't want to come out.

So I did pelvic floor exercise, breath in and breath out, squeeze and close my anal splinter muscle , hold it for 10 seconds and release it.

I did these exercises but I still don't have the urge to poop.

Then I will go to the toilet, to strain and force the poop out every morning.

But then recently, I went to see a colorectal doctor and pelvic floor specialist. She told me that I don't have to necessary poop every day and only go to the toilet to poop when I have a strong urge to poop.

I follow her advice. There is some improvement.

I find out that if I poop today, I will have to wait at least two days before I have a strong urge to poop again. But I also have to drink a lot of water, otherwise the urge to poop will not come or the poop will be very difficult/hard to pass out of my rectum.

Now, before I sleep every night, I drink a big mug of 600ml of water.

Usually I have five slices of white bread as breakfast in the morning.

After that, I will have some rice and chicken (normal portion) for dinner.

The next day, if I really want the urge to poop to come, I will drink two big mugs of water of 600ml each ( Total of 1200 ml of water)

Then I will have to go to the toilet to pee about 4-5 times before the urge to poop arrive.

But even when I have the urge to poop, the poop will move slowly and stuck somewhere near above the rectum opening.

Then I have to push the poop out.

The poop will come out lumpy (number 2 on bristol stool chart) follow by the soft mild diahorrea kind.( number 4 on bristol stool chart)

Or it can be lumpy all the way ( number 2 on bristol stool chart)

Or soft, with edges all the way ( number 4 on bristol stool chart)

I don't understand. In the past when I poop, my poop is usually the normal banana shaped stool ( number 3 on bristol stool chart)

But now it seems like my poop is always lumpy or the soft, mild diahorrea kind.

It appears that you're not getting enough roughage in your diet if that's a standard sample of your daily intake. You should include more fruits and vegetables and high-fibre stuff like beans and pulses in your meals.

5 slices of white bread for breakfast?! Eek! That's not going to do your regularity any good. Have porridge oats or bran flakes or muesli instead; that'll get a start on you!

Oh... and don't overthink what should be a natural process. The more you worry about this the worse it will get. You need to take your mind off it with other things; get reading, crafting, learning a new language online or whatever. Eat a good, balanced diet made up of all the major essential food groups, carry on drinking water (but don't overdo it) and you'll be fine.

Re: I have difficulty defecating and it is affecting my life

If I don't drink water in the morning, I will not have the strong urge to poop.

In the past when I wake up in the morning, I will nornally have a strong urge to poop (with or without drinking water). The urge to poop will become very strong especially after I had my breakfast.

But now I have to depend on drinking at least two big mug of 600ml each of water ( Total 1200ml of water) if I want to have a strong urge to poop in the morning.

I feel like the cause of my problem began in February 2020 when I went to the hospital for rubber band ligation for my hemorriods ( piles)

The doctor performed rubber band ligation on my three hemorriods ( grade 1 hemorriods)

Actually my piles are rather small and the doctor said that I don't have to remove the piles.

But I thought that getting rid of the piles will solve my bowel, constipation problem.

When the doctor performed the rubber band ligation on my three small piles, it was so so so very painful.

It feels like that I need to poop.

It was so painful that I have to take painkillers.

The pain ( sensation to poop) only went off the next day.

After the rubber band ligation, I find out that sometimes I have very soft stool, mild diahorrea, sometimes diahorrea kind of stool and with mucus and a lot of mucus too.

Then a few months later, I went to the hospital for a defeacography. The nurses insert a white barium into my rectum. It was quite painful and uncomfortable.

Then I was asked to sit on a toilet bowl to poop while they ran X ray and scan me while I was pooping the white barium paste.

From the defeacography result, I was diagnosed with pelvic floor disorder.

I don't know. After the defeacography test, I went home and the next morning, I seem to have lost the urge to poop. That was in May 2020.

This was like the start of my problem with constipation and seemingly losing the strong urge to poop until January 2022 this year when I saw the colorectal doctor and pelvic floor specialist when she told me that I don't necessary have to poop every day and I only go to the toilet to poop only when I have a strong urge to poop.

It was also around this time that I discovered and realised that if I try drinking enough water in the morning, I will have a strong urge to poop.

Previously, I didn't bother to drink water in the morning.

I don't know.

I am worried and think that the rubber band ligation may have damaged my rectum nerves and muscles because it was so painful.

If any of you want to consider doing rubber band ligation, I would ,based on my experience, advice you not to.

I really regret doing the rubber band ligation. I think the pain from the rubber band ligation means that the rubber band damage my rectum nerves and musces permanently.

I asked the doctors and they said that the rubber band ligation will not damage my nerves and muscles. They said the pain is due to the swelling. I don't really quite believe them.

I don't know.

When I told the colorectal doctor, she said that if I have constipation, try to eat less fibre.

She said that if I eat fibre( fruits), I will have to drink lots of water.

She said that fibre are not proteins, carbohydrate and cannot be absorbed by the body.

She said that if I eat a lot of fibre such as fruits and vegetables, I will have a lot of poop in my body.

She said that therefore, it is either that I cut down my intake of fibre Or if I eat a lot of fibre then I have to drink lots of water to overcompensate it.

Re: I have difficulty defecating and it is affecting my life

I don't know with any certainty but seeing your other topic about toilet washing and germs may be a clue that there is a mental block that is causing your physical problem.

Re: I have difficulty defecating and it is affecting my life

JUB has a Health and Well being forum, and a Fetish forum.

You should pick one before the moderators get off their lazy asses and pick one for you.

Re: I have difficulty defecating and it is affecting my life

^ he already has about 12 threads in the health forum on the subject.

Re: I have difficulty defecating and it is affecting my life

/\ Then they probably need to be moved to the Fetish forum.

Before they start affecting my life. LOL

Re: I have difficulty defecating and it is affecting my life

Seriously, there are psychological issues at work here, and your issues, poop and scrubbing the toilet, are undoubtedly a result of you worrying about them. You're obsessed with it and it's making you constipated. The best solution would be to find out why.
