Is anyone watching Lifetime's Under the Gunn with Tim Gunn? I watched the first episode and it seems interesting. There are 3 mentors from Project Runway: Mondo, Anya, and Nick. They each pick 4 designers to be on their team. Each designer is judged on their own work and only one designer will win. It's interesting and a little different from Project Runway. Some of the male designers I think are cuties. If anyone else is watching this show please share your thoughts and opinions on this show so far.

Don't forget to watch Under the Gunn with Tim Gunn on Lifetime tonight. The 3 mentors: Mondo, Anya, and Nick pick from the remaining designers to have a total of 4 designers on their teams. Then the competition will begin. Each designers is competing against one another and one designer will go home each week. When all 4 designers on the mentors team is sent home than that Mentor is out too.

Is anyone watching? Last week all 3 mentors finally picked their teams. Can't wait for tomorrow night to see who will win and who will go home.

I'll check it out again, but I wasn't exactly WOWED by it on the premiere episode... but, it's Tim Gunn and I'm loyal, so it deserves another shot. I just don't want this to take away from Project Runway when IT returns!

Although the show is young, I can't help but feel like the designers on this show are just not in the same caliber as the typical lot on Project Runway. PR tends to feel more like mostly accomplished designers who need a break and need to make a name for themselves. This feels like a group of students, wannabe students, and aspiring designers. Noobs, if you will.
I don't think your typical PR egomaniac would dare let someone like Nick come in and coach them. It's just kind of sad to watch.

I was a bit disappointed on the person who was sent home. I thought the woman who made the green dress on Nick's team should have went home. It was awful. Even though the woman who was sent home from Mondo's team, her dress was bad. But I thought not as bad as the other dress. I was glad to see Sam from Anya's team win. His jumpsuit was different and unique from everyone else's and he took a big risk, which obviously paid off for him.

I have to say though, Nick needs to back off and mentor and not be as involved as he was in the first challenge. After all he should be mentoring and not helping design and cut out patterns for his team of designers.

I read that apparently, Heidi Klum is busy working on Britain's Got Talent, that is why she is not able to do another Project Runway at this time. So at the last minute they decided to come up with a show with Tim Gunn.
So far I like the show. It's a change of pace from watching Project Runway. Similar but a bit different.

I was glad to see Asha win this week's challenge from Mondo's team. I am also glad they sent Isabelle home from Nick's team. She had trouble with time management. For a design competition you have to be able to design and execute your design fast.

Anyone watch this week's episode? I was surprised to see that Oscar from Nick's team won! And even though Nicholas and Shan from Anya's tea, both were in the bottom, the judges decided not to send anyone home. I thought they were both awful. I think Shan is better designer than Nicholas. Nick needs to learn from this last challenge that as a mentor he should not tell his designers what or how to design. I think if he keeps his distance, his team might be the winners of Under the Gunn. That would be a shocker! What is everyone else's opinion on this weeks show?

I was glad to see Shan, Oscar, Sam, and Asha make it into next week's Season Finale of "Under the Gunn." I think Shan will win. Throughout this season he has proven what a great designer he is. What does everyone else think?

Asha is annoying and I've never really liked her aesthetic. Her final collection was better than I expected, except for that gross disco jumpsuit thing. I just can't stand listening to her speak.

Shan was my favorite all along and, although I thought his collection was decent, he's capable of better. I think he just faltered at the end and grasped for the tired old "hard and soft" concept. Usually (at least once every season) somebody presents this "mixing the hard and soft" concept like they just invented the most brilliant fucking idea ever conceived (like Asha once already this season). But Shan didn't even seem to feel all that confident about it. He made it work, but didn't really own it. Probably because he knows it's been done to death, and by far more pretentious designers than him. He was out of ideas and went for one he thought would be safe.

Sam is also capable of better things. I think he could have combined the pieces he made differently to make it more inventive. Split those awesome pants and jacket apart, combine with the dress or skirt, etc. It just looked kind of boring and the look with the shorts seemed kind of cheap and junior looking.

Oscar was always certainly great with construction, but I never thought his design had a lot of ideas. He was a safe choice. The other more inventive designers didn't really pull through, so they went with the one more traditional, well-tailored, glamour queen designer.

Despite how much I dislike Asha, I thought the judges would choose her. Every season of PR has the young adventurous one who falters in the end (Sam and Shan), and the more experienced and tailored glamour queen (Oscar). Asha was in between. And if it weren't for the weird head-dresses, might have won. Oscar was definitely the better choice.

I thought the finale was underwhelming. I don't like it when they do mini collections that were created in a short amount of time. You are more likely to get real breath taking shows when they have a month to prepare.

I thought the finale was a bit of a let down too. All the pieces from Oscar's collection were just rehashes from his previous challenges. I also thought Shan could have been more original and not go with the hard and soft look which is overdone. I didn't like Asha's designs either. What was she thinking with that headdress? Sam's designs were a bit boring and nothing special.
