Grrrrrrr...

Anyone else get slapped with a bill outa the blue?

I noticed that one of Alley's (my cat) teeth had a dark spot and made an appointment to get him seen--

They oooohhhhed and ahhhhhed over him, and one asked if he was somekind of larger breed. Nope--just a foundling.

Anyway the exam and getting his shots up to date cost over $130.00, throw in the carrier I had to buy $40.00 (he won't fit in the cat sized ones)...and the estimate to have his teeth worked on, another $600.00 (on the high end) I wish I had known about this BEFORE I bought the new TV.

So--my savings for a car is going to be hit---

To top it off--I have a bit of a tooth ache.

A dark spot on the tooth? That doesn't sound too terrible. You would expect it if they don't brush their teeth.

^the doc said it was some kind of auto immune thing some cats have---it can attack their teeth and cause decay.

How about having to replace the furnace/air conditdioner? That's where my summer salary has gone. <sigh>

I feel your pain.

But ssshhhhhhhhhhh.

The karma dogs can hear you and once it is one thing, it is a whole series of wallet lightening unanticipated disasters.

So. Sshhhhhhhhhhhh.

And Alley, I hope your kitty is feeling better after the dental work is done.

I was going to buy a new computer, but my mother bought it for me

she told me that since I insisted that I needed nothing for Xmas nor my birthday she owed me... I know, guiltying me into letting her buy me stuff

but I had to buy the monitor myself

Does not normally happen to me but I don't have pets. Everyone that I know that has pets have bills like that frequetnly. If you have pets, you kind of have to expect things like that, unless you get some good health insurance for pets to cover it.

I forgot that the license plate for my car had to be renewed this month. $70 I didn't have but had to send it anyway.

I know what you mean... we had to replace the water conditioner at our house this month... (ouch!)

Hang in there... at least you can watch TV while nursing Alley back to health!

I got a flat tired and had to buy a new inner tube for the bike....

I was totally saving that $4.57 for an order of crab rangoon and an egg roll. :(

Sir...

Do you mock my pain...???

*launches three stooges' eye jab*

I had to have my gall bladder out. Thank god for insurance because my portion was only about $2000 instead of $15000.

I feel everyone's pain. Mixed bag of unexpected bills here this month. Brake job for car...($450).....house central air conditioning needed part replacement ($325) and it's August in Florida so that was a "must" repair.
Total damage $775.00. Planned a trip to Key West over the Labor Day weekend but that's out of the realm of reality now. :(

Yep, I surely understand. My first car broke down to the point that it was unable to be fixed, so I had to get a new car. Now I find out today that I have jury duty and my job does not pay for days missed due for this reason; in other words, I understand the financial woes. So let's see here:

1) $200 spent on the days that I needed transportation for work.

2) $1500 spent on purchasing a new car.

3) At least $400 that I will not make for missing work.

I'm sure your vet will cooperate with a payment plan. I've had to do that a couple times with mine. They understand that people don't always plan for vet bills...

-- but also, think about getting a second opinion. 600 sounds pretty steep to me.
