UNEXPECTED surprise JUB Meeting!!!

So -- I was just tooling along on my way to Tooele, UT today when my phone rang...

It was Knucklehead!!!

He was like -- "So where are you?"

I said -- "Just West of Salt Lake City to make a quick delivery in Tooele"...

He says ''I KNOW -- YOU JUST PASSED ME!!!"

I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!!

So -- I told him that I was just dropping off 1 Yamaha Rhino -- and that I could meet him (and his students) for lunch in about 45 minutes -- which worked well for him as well...

Here we are at the truckstop we met up at...

And here is a pick of Kenny and his students...

It was a TOTAL BLAST (as always) getting to spend a couple hours hanging out with Kenny -- and I was BLOWN AWAY at how AWESOME he was as an instructor!!!

Good job to two on my favorite JUBbers... kenny you beat me to it I have been trying to catch Swerve headed through my neck of the woods a couple times... best i did was sitting ina traffic jam headed in opposite directions once....

The FUNNY thing is that IF I had called him the night before to try and set something up -- it WOULDN'T have worked out because of our busy schedules today...

And -- as YOU KNOW -- ANY ESCAPE from the truck -- even for a FEW hours -- makes a HUGE difference to me...

It took awhile -- but I FOUND IT!!!

I VERY CLEARLY remember that day...

It was SO HORRIBLE having to deliver a couple of motorcycles with such a HUGE hangover...

Yet...

It was SO MUCH FUN hanging out with you!!!

Thanks,Swerve..I just happened to notice you as you passed my truck on the interstate..Remember that one time we were both parked in the same truckstop and didn't know it till the next day? lol

Was good seeing you again..Thanks for the compliments too.I enjoy the instructor position.It can be a bit nerve wracking driving with someone who has never driven a semi before,but it's nice to be able to use my years of experience as a trucker to teach the newbies learn the ropes..

It was.I've run into Swerve all over the U.S.-The first time while we were both caught up in a blizzard while trying to make it across Nebraska several years ago..

But let me ask the obvious question: What the hell? Utah? You couldn't pay me to live there.

Fair enough,but I didn't know you were considering bids. For me though,life shouldn't be an endurance test.I'm from New York City and put up with all the bullshit there and find as I get older,I don't have the patience for it any longer.

I've also lived not far from you in Phoenix. I found the 128 degree summers,the gridlock in every direction,the general seediness of much of the city,to say nothing of the seemingly universal meth addiction that grips it's inhabitants to be far more than I feel like putting up with.Valley of the Sun (or,as I say,Valley of the Spun) ,ehh,it ain't for me..

But I do like Salt Lake though.I have family out here and friends I've known for half my life.I find the climate to be enjoyable.Temperate winters without too much snow in the valley(a far cry from the almost daily blizzards I put up with in Pennsylvania) the summers lack the oppressive humidity of the east coast or the stupifying heat of the Phoenix area that's hotter than Satan's balls.

The city itself is mostly Democratic,nice mix of people without the feeling that you're a stranger in your own country.Things work here and are repaired when they don't.It's clean,the people,for the most part, are cool and friendly .I can get anything I want here that I'd want back east without putting up with a lot of nonsense or expense to get it.

I'm not saying Phoenix or Arizona is heaven. SLC isn't too bad, but still. Mormons are some of the fakest people.
