United States of Tara: Season 2

I hate Lionel now. Instead of doing something really creative with Marshall's story, theyve made him friends with this superwhore, gay slut. That does drugs at a family art show and wants Marshall to fuck random strangers at the park. I know that this happens but he seems to be written as someone who is older than high school. At this point, I wouldnt be surprised if we find out in the finale that Lionel has AIDS or he dies from a drug overdose, since they seem hellbent on making him this jaded, bitchy, teen queen.

Yeah, Lionel is pretty much a mix-and-match of all gay stereotypes rolled into one. While the character itself is not unique, it does present Marshall with a unique storyline. At first he saw Lionel as the kind of person people view all gay people, thus initiating his small rebellion against his homosexuality, that being his crazy short-time girlfriend. But that just further made him understand who he is, even to the point where he came out to his already understanding and accepting family. Now Lionel takes him to a park to hook up with complete strangers....again, Marshall is able to contrast what is means to be gay vs what it means to be the gay stereotype, as best explained by his very simple yet important statement: "I like guys, but I like old films just as much." I think he is finally realizing that being gay is not what defines a person anymore than any other arbitrary feature (like enjoying old movies). He is not a gay guy who happens to be Marshall Gregson, he is Marshall Gregson who just happens to be gay (and an old film buff).

Awww that was cute how Marshall and Lionel finally got together. Tara's storyline just got more interesting, seeing her turned into Chicken.

Oh, I'm so glad they are actually making Lionel into a human character with feelings. I thought last night's episode was sweet.

Im sorry but I was so annoyed when Tara had bew alter. There's been like zero progress made and now another alter. The only person who's storyline isnt moving at a snail's pace is Kate.

Last night's finale was pretty good.

I felt so bad for Charmaine when Nick left her at the altar. What kind of asshole does that? He couldn't have called the wedding off a week before? Hell, even a day before? I normally can't stand Charmaine but she didn't deserve to be humiliated like that.

LoL @ Kate's new beau (I forgot his name) revealing that he's a conservative Republican. I knew there was something skeezy about him. The actor playing him is too adorable for words though.

I was a little disappointed with the reveal that Tara and Charmaine have a half-brother. I thought it would be something bigger than that. Yeah, they were probably molested by him, but that's kind of predictable, isn't it? I expected a real shocker. Oh well.

This show really needs to be an hour long. I always feel like it's ending just as I'm getting into it. Overall though... decent finale. Not bad for a 30 minute show.

I felt the same way......I thought the scene with Marshall and Lionel was so adorable and when his dad dances with him....that was too cute.

Charmaine got what she deserved. She really deserved worse. It was obvious that the entire time she still wanted Neil anyway and was just using Nick. I'm glad Nick finally woke up before he threw his life away for that wretched beast. Up until the very end Charmaine was still more concerned with how Neil was feeling more than anything else.

Marshall and Lionel should have at least had sex by the end of the season.

I wouldnt be surprised if this show isnt renewed.

The finale was alright but I wanted more. Like stated earlier, an hour wouldn't hurt to help stretch the stories out. Lionel and Marshall storyline was cute. That whole confrontation between Kate and Marshall's beaus was funny. Can't wait for the third season next year.

sorry i'm late, but i had to watch the season finale a couple times to really gauge how unexciting it was.

it didn't even feel like a season finale, but just an episode in the middle.

sad to say, but i'm not even amped up for season 3,

i'll still blaze out and watch it, but in the meantime i might forget the show exists.

I loved lionels and marshalls relationship how it bloomed. I actually found lionels break down and admitting thing to be quite relatable... I know I was touched by it..

I hope Marshall gets fucked before the show signs off!

oh fuck. tonights episode...:(

I hate that it's looking like the show is going to end with her being institutionalized...I think it'd be a bad way for the show to end...maybe not if it was just the Season Finale, but as a series finale I'll be disappointed
