A large fire is burning at the world-famous Universal Studios in Los Angeles, California.
The blaze was reported before dawn on a sound stage at the film studios, said Los Angeles fire captain Frank Reynoso.
More than 100 city and county firefighters are helping studio staff tackle the flames, which have caused several explosions. No injuries have been reported at the 230-acre site, ...

I shot this from my roof. The fire is in North Hollywood and I live in Hancock Park so the Hollywood Hills are in the way but you can see the HUGE plume of smoke...

All of those historic old sound stages gone forever. At least nobody got killed.

That's 10 minutes away from me. Do we have any more specifics on what caused the fire?

Poor King Kong.

Losses the girl, gets shot down by bi-planes and now this...

Poor hairy bastard can't catch a break.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - This morning's fire at Universal Studios near Los Angeles has consumed several well-known movie sets. Among them are a "Back to the Future" set and the King Kong exhibit. The fire, which is now contained, also destroyed a video vault.

Thats really sad. I wonder what films were lost in the fire?

^^
Thankfully, I just read, all the reels and video's had copies stored elsewhere. And the Desperate Housewives set isn't damaged at all.

But the Hill Valley Town Square is gone forever.

GOD'S PUNISHMENT.

See? For once all those filesharing programs and illegal copies of movies come in handy.

Wow that's crazy, I'm right on the other side of the hill only a few minutes away. I hope everyone is OK. I'm glad no irreplaceable film stock was damaged.
