Thanks for the responses guys. I firstly just emailed and asked her why she sent me the link and she just said because she remembered a discussion we had earlier in the semester and that she wasn't implying anything.
I've started to write a response. This is what I have so far. Let me know what you think.
"*insert her name*, I wouldn't mind even if you were implying something. I am gay and I'm comfortable with that. I know this wasn't your intention, but I really can't explain just how offended I am by the content of that article...
It is incredibly bias, inaccurate and written purely from a right wing perspective. The fact that one of the sources is called "conservapedia" should have been a good indicator of this.
I'm sure you're aware of the recent string of gay teen suicides that have been occurring throughout the world. I don't think it's hard to understand why this occurs when certain individuals claim that people choose to be gay, that gay people have some sort of disorder, suffer from health problems, are incapable of having a successful relationship or raising children and have to live in a world where they are harassed, discriminated against, in some countries killed, and denied the same fundamental human rights as possessed by their heterosexual counterparts.
Furthermore, the dubious science employed in that article is disturbingly similar to the propaganda utilized by the Nazi's in World War 2 to imply that Jewish people were of some form of sub species. I really hope you can realize that such information as contained in that article exists for the sole purpose of enforcing an agenda and oppressing a minority.
Even if people weren't born gay (which I assure you is false), it shouldn't matter. In Australia and any other civilised country, people are free to live their lives the way they want and are entitled to be treated equally. Regarding the part of the article that states homosexuals don't produce evidence to prove they were born gay, this is entirely false. Many studies have been done that indicate homosexuality is biological. A gay gene was identified in fruit flies and one study has shown that certain parts of the brain are different between gay and straight individuals (http://www.sciencemag.org/content/253/5023/1034.abstract). Regardless, most people don't carry around scientific proof of their sexuality anyway. The only way to truly know if you are born gay is to be gay. Just about every gay person will tell you they are born gay (myself included) and most gay people admit to knowing they were gay and showing signs from a young age. When did you choose to be straight? Homosexuality has been around forever and has been examined in multiple species’. It puzzles me how it can be considered unnatural when this is the case.
Homosexuality is not a disorder. This has been accepted by the American Psychiatric Association since the 1970s. The strange obsession some people have with homosexuality, however, could arguably be classified as some form of disorder.
I really think you should consider information from some more neutral sources before forming a conclusive opinion on the topic. As I took the time to read your article, I would appreciate it if you would grant me the same courtesy and read the link below. It is from a neutral source and states the opinions of psychological, psychiatric and scientific experts who are educated on the topic.

I don't want you to feel like I'm trying to argue with you, *insert name*, and I don't want to create any animosity between us. But in future, I would prefer you didn't send me such material.
*inset my name*"
