Or, at least, that's what I've been told by my landlord. I think I've convinced him to allow us to put down the underpadding under the carpet up there for dampening the sound. They have a dog and my landlord was surprised when I told him that we could hear the dog walking across the floor.

I don't think he's rented it yet (not many people are looking for apartments this time of year) so we should be able to roll back the carpet and put the underpad in.

Fingers crossed that we can make it happen.

i'm sure that under-padding will be a relief.

Man...I feel your pain. I hear my upstairs neighbor all the time! They have hardwood floors. What really sucks is that someone gets up at like 4 in the morning and wakes me up. UGGGGGHHHH!!

I wish the crazy bitch downstairs would move.

And yes, that is me being wildly insensitive. She is literally crazy, and at night we hear her having shouting matches... with herself...

good luck!

what I like about this place is that it is side to side

Unfortunately, with the price of apartments these days, my only other option would be to live in a rooming house and share a bathroom with a dozen other guys.

Been there. Done that. Never want to do it again.
