My guess is somebody created an account and started spamming. JUB figured it out (they can only send about 10 PMs before they reach their limit) and banned the account, thus the "guest" account. They may not have alerted everybody to the problem yet, though.

Just spam, I had this a couple weeks ago:

Ah... didn't know about that report function... although it similar to the one in threads, I didn't know it was available in PMs as well and jut manually forwarded the PM to a mod...

I received the same email stamped 6:30pm - wonder why it took so long.
